Hi, does anyone know how to edit STW text files so that Muskets can fire even in rain? I'm just enjoying Single Player and getting tired of the tricky AI who always chooses snow and rain to attack my provinces.

in stw, the original, there isnt a way to do this, or at least no way to do it without hacking the main program files. in we/mi with the 1.02 patch, you can edit the text files and have it work quite nicely. there is a file called 'troopstats.txt' that has this parameter built into it. it's called 'is waterproof?'. it simply turns this feature on or off for missile units. edit the file, save it, and yer off and running. just remember to save a copy of the original file for backup. and also remember, if you want to change this for multiplayer, that ALL folks in a multiplayer game MUST have the EXACT same file settings or the game will crash.

The only absolute is that there are no absolutes.
The parameter that controls weapons firing in the rain in WE/MI is actually in the "projectiles.txt" file. Troopstats.txt also has many parameters affecting unit performance that can be changed. These files are not available in STW. I created them in STW's main folder, but the game did not use the files.
