This is, IMO the best fan fiction I have *ever* read. It was a couple of years ago I read it, and now that froggy had opened up the mead hall, I thought I would share it with you all.
The story is based upon the game Alpha Centauri. For those not familiar with the game, its a civ style game with 14 different playable factions all of whom has their own unique gameplay style. So you have the morganites (capitalists), Human Hive (communists), Spartans (military survivalists), data angels (hackers) etc. The story is based upon The Forgotten Faction - the Hillbilly faction. It is superbly written, quite long and absolutely hilarious.
There is only one problem with the story. It has no ending. It just stops without warning, leaving you wondering about the fate of its highly talented author (OldCodger - wonder if he's related to OBG? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif ) Nevertheless, what there is is superb.
Please, take the time to download this and then set aside several hours to read it at you leisure. You will not regret it.
