has anyone ever noticed that in custom battles that you can not totaly upgrade your armour to the gold looking kind and valor only goes up to four? doesnt that kind of suck, does anyone know of a patch of some kind that would change this?

Hmmm. I hadn't noticed the armour upgrade limitation, but the valour 4 is a change from STW to MTW. They took the 0-9 STW honour levels and crunched them down to 0-4.
That is because of MP considerations. Custom games use the same upgrade system that you also would use in multiplayer games. The valour cap at 4 keeps the game at least remotely reasonable. If you play with v6 or higher units the whole morale system loses it's balance and you will have Jedi Peasants for example who fight forever. I'm not sure you'd like to see one of those battles.
As far as I know this is hardcoded, so there's probably no tool available to change this.
