It does look very good what time in 2004 though I wonder?? It doesnt show much ingame footage though is it Age of Empires style?
I don't think they've got too much gameplay concretely figured out yet. Gamespy just did a piece on it, it should still be on the PC page.
Its TW style.
IIRC.
but it cant match the # of units and the tactical possibilities.
Think of it as
Hollywood meets JRR meets MTW.
Its pretty interesting, but it will be an RTS,with base building, unit creation, and resources.I hear they'll make the interface as transparent as possible, and no mini-map,you pull up a paper map and use it instead of a radar/minimap,altho its kinda gives it a realistic LOTR feel,i don't know if it will work....i don't want to jump to conclusions tho,we'll have to wait and see.
from what ive read its not quite a Lord of the Rings MTW more of a Lord of the Rings meets MTW battles - ive read there will be limmited base building as well so maybe with a pinch of Age of Empires in as well
Theres alot of talk about this game, it will be like this and like that..what we need to see now is some good ingame scenes..
Lets just hope it will be good, seems like alot of the stuff that gets released lately is crap .
Doesnt that game use the C&C Generals engine? Or am I thinking of something else? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...nquisitive.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...gc-anxious.gif

I have it. It's pretty good but it isn't TW style at all. They created it for small groups of troops so it would be focused on micro-management and strategy rather than the usual 'build lots and lots of troops then attack. Repeat until you win' strategies.
The War of the Ring is different from Battle for Middle Earth, both are RTS but they are really different.
yes War of the ring is good for about a week but the battles aint big enough for me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...c-computer.gif so i didnt enjoy it that much. im looknig forward too LOTR BFME tho
um... i hate to break it to you guys, but if you read the accompanying developer interview that was posted with this trailer on IGN, he specifically mentions that every single piece of footage of this trailer is in engine. there's no pre-rendered video AT ALL in that video.
I like smaller battles so I might just check this one out
