Reconquista: Total War

Finally, I've developed a mod (for Viking Invasion) about the Spanish Reconquista. It works for Custom and Multiplayer only. This mod includes:

- 16 new factions, including 7 catholic kingdoms, 7 muslim taifa kingdoms and 2 mercenary factions

- 116 new units, including Pardos, Peasant knights, Murabitin Negro Guards, Nizari Knights, Murtaziqa Infantry, Galician Bandits, Portuguese Infantry, Navarrese Swordmen, Hashid Infantry and more

- New military orders: Calatrava, Alcantara, Evora and Knights Mercedarios (Knights of Santiago included too, of course).

I will try this out at home when I get back. One question, is this an overwrite or an addon?

Congradulations for taking on such a task as big as this. There was one Spanish mod like this planned bt Dessa14, but It either never got started, of failed at the beginning.

One reccomendation: I would repost this same thread in the Engineers guild, or have a moderator move it for you

But you guys seem to confuse things here. Reconquista is about fights in Iberian peninsula, while Conquistador TW was about conquering south and central americas by either the Spanish or one of the native "indian" factions. And I dont think Dessa is working on Conquistador anymore, he was constantly claiming hes doing sth but never showed results...

2 questions:
1.Is it possible to install this mode in the same folder with wes mod?
2.Are all texts in Spanish?

The names file translates the Spanish to English. Didn't see any descriptions in the old Anglo-Aryan though.

The mod is based in the long war among christian kingdoms and muslims in the Iberian Peninsula during the middle age.

It's basically an addon. The changes won't affect the original game, you can play the standard VI and the Reconquista using the same folder. It's compatible with the standard multiplayer too.

The mod is fully compatible with the original VI; however, it's not compatible with any other mod, so if you want to have more than one you must install it in a separated folder.

If you have the english version of the game, don`t care about that: all the texts are translated to english. The mod is in english (if you are using the english version of VI)and in spanish (if you are using the spanish version of VI).

Yes, you can use the mod to play multiplayer battles (all players must have the mod installed, of course). Most of Celtiberos are currently playing with it in foyer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/tongue.gif

Have you tried to make a campaign with all these factions?
Imagine a new campaign map with the iberic peninsula, Toulouse, Aquitain, Balearic Islands, Morocco and Algiers.

E gad lol i just reread this an realized that theres no campaign. Man this would be sooooooooo cool if some1 made a campaign for this with like spain the southern most piece of france part of north africa and the balerics (imagine if there was like 50-100 provinces also, that would make this mod incredible well it already is in icredible but a campaign with a ton of provinces would make this umm well.... INCREDIBLER(is that a word?)

i love this mod but a good campaign would rank this mod up with wes mod and NTW imo

Couldn't you use the map from "IberianMapMod (MTW 1.1)" to create the campaigns?

I've seen the Iberian map and IMHO, the province borders, province names, even Geography (where are the rivers? where are the balearic islands?) aren't much accurate. The map isn't bad, but I don't like to use it in a campaign, just because I would like to make it realistic. However, I think I couldn't make it better, I have no idea about mapmaking (yet).

A complete campaign it's a huge task for me at this moment, and I'm not very interested in the SP part of the game; I don't know if in the future I will complete the mod with its own campaign.

I downloaded it from the CeltIberos site and installed it. Looks quite nice and plays well in custom battle.

I've got a bit of an OT question though. I noticed that the CeltIberos have a number of historical battles available for download as well as a new historical campaign.

Has any thought been given to doing English translations on these?

this seems to be gathering interest so,Moved to Engineers guild where it will be pinned for easy access and ongoing development...LOS

Obake: I don't know if the authors will translate the historical battles/campaigns. I can ask for it, if you want.

Btw, the battles work in others language installations, the only problem is that the battle descriptions and readme.txt appear in spanish.

I don't have a problem with the battles themselves, it is the translations of the descriptions that I was asking about.

I understand that the historical battles were done primarily for the members of Celtibero, which is why they haven't been more widely distributed, but I think it would be a great way to drive traffic to the website of a great Clan, as well as providing the entire community with more material with which to continue enjoying the game.
