As long as civilization has existed, there have been men who have lived lives of legendary opulence, like emperors of the ancient world, modern-day dictators, monarchs, business moguls, robber barons, and corrupt popes. These men all had things like palaces, the finest in transportation, feasts, concubines, jewelry, and artwork. However, does one man in history stand out from the others as the most pampered? By pampered, I don't mean a lack of responsibilities or money left unspent in the bank, but more of an excessive possession of luxurious material goods. This could be a hard question to answer. I don't know if there is much hard data on the subject. Most of what I read or hear seems like legend or rumor.
Anyone have a definite answer or have a good guess on who this could be? My gut says emperors of Rome or China would take the cake here, but there's a lot I don't know.
