Making historical battles

I'm making historical battles and campaigns to appear in my Super Mod yet I've reached a snag. There is a part where you can situate units on the map using coordinates. How is this done? I've no idea at the mo and am well and truly stuck.

Theese threads helped me before. You can also do a search for "historical battles" or "placing units" and see what you come up with.
