Help! MTW install problems

Alright, Ive had both MTW and VI for some time now, but I installed the NTW mod and now am trying to re-install the original.
However, when just installing the original MTW it keeps freezing on around 17%, almost precisely on the Prince32.tga portrait file. I would like to know if I can actually repair or remove this file from installation, or if there is an easier way to stop the freeze?

Completely uninstall all MTW and all mods from the comp and start from scratch.
Make sure the CD is not damaged also,but i think it's just that the game will not re-install over NapTW
