Invalid CD key
Hi! Can anyone help me with this problem?
I have MTW VI v.2.01, and I've tried to log onto GameSpy to play the multiplayer games. I have a previous user name and password on GameSpy for another game, but every time I try to log on, it tells me my CD key is invalid. Since I own Battle Collection, I have two CD keys, one for MTW and one for VI. I have tried both and both were "invalid". Could this be a case of someone "stealing" my CD key and the CD key being blocked, or do I need to register my CD key first and where?
Help would be appreciated.

Re: Invalid CD key
Right, first off make sure you log into the game through the game, and not through ther gamespy website.
As far as your CD key goes, its most unlikely anyone has nicked it! You need to make sure that all the letters are uppercase, and that all that you use O and 0 as needed.
Also, and most crucially, all the letters have to be uppercase, and all the numbers lower case. Yeah I know you can't get upper case numbers, but if you have capslock on then the game doesn't recogniose them properly.
It'll probably take a few goes until you hit the correct permutation of digits to log on, but once you do it'll be worth it.... honest :)

Re: Invalid CD key
I have had that and found out that it was my anti virus programme. For some reason it works on some days and other days it just wouldn't let me log on unless I disable Norton. Try and disable your anti virus programme (firewall) and then log on. Do not go over gamespy directly but, as suggested before, over the game.

Re: Invalid CD key
Thanks for the help, guys! It actually worked the other day, all of a sudden, when I went to gamespy and reconfirmed my old user name and password.
I never realised that it makes any difference if the numbers are typed with caps lock on though.
Cheers,

Re: Invalid CD key
You don't have to disable your firewall, just allow connection in/out of the game and that would do it.
