The demo was great. I've been playing S:TW and M:TW for a long time and the demo is everything I could have imagined. Although there are some annoying quirks (every other post in this forum seems to be mentioning them), the demo is still amazing and I will be sure to get the game as early as possible.
Keeping in mnd that it is a demo and not the actual game, once I got it to work (stupid vid card), i liked the battle, esp. Trebia. I have also liked the modding aspect of it and can't wait until the full game comes out, I would like to see the camp map.
I was a little disappointed with some aspects of the demo, but I'll be buying the game.

Lord this is a demo jeeees. The game still has not gone gold and I bet that they are looking at some of the reasonable changes. My biggest concern is that it will be easier to mod than MTW. ~:grouphug: Is it perfect? No. What is, and that is what patches are for. They have been good supporting there games so far so not worried. To see HTW converted to this engine would be the ultimate Christmas present. ~:santa:
Enkidu, great name! I was blown away by the graphics and can't wait to see the whole game. I have my pet peeves, but until the game comes out like everyone says "it's just the demo". ~:cheers:
Oh thats a demo?? Jees I always believed my friends @ the warez sites and my peer 2 peer program were sharing demo's with me..
So if i complete a game in 8 hours i liked the demo and delete it from my hard disk. And then you buy the games you keep on your hard disk, right???

I think the thing that has impressed me most is the number of mods that have already been written - for a demo!
So, credit to CA for making a demo that could be modded (but I don't think that was their intention), and even more credit to the modders for working out how to do it.
Imagine the activity when the real deal is released.
Intersting voting so far, it at least looks like the RTW demo has been a sucess overall. Keep voting everyone, every vote welcome to give a better view.

It's the little graphical details that really do it for me. I love the way the Poeni infanty's spears point down the hill they're standing on.
Also, when playing the mod commanding the Julii, I had two units of Triarii facing the Sacred Band cavalry. I used my Equites as bait, and ordered them behind the Triarii when the SB cav followed them. When they moved through the Triarii every other rank moved behind his companion so they could pass through unhindered. So much better than the unholy mess that happened in MTW if you tried that
Demo's don't really tell you much.
If I do the smart thing I'll wait a month and read the boards; if I get really smart I'll wait for at least the first patch to be released ~;p
More likely, I'll buy soon after release ~;)

I liked it, but like most new games it has its problems and they can be fixed which is the good thing. I still will buy the game.
Francly I was a bit disappointed although it was just a demo and limited in that regard I still feel that; "hmm, was that all they could come up with during theese last three years since MTW". Liked the graphics though and I´m confident that the modding community can enhance this game as well as they did with both Shogun and Medieval. RTW is still a must buy for me. Hell, I´m even gonna buy a new PC for this.
Thankyou for all the votes, it exceeded my request of 50, which was great. Nice to see most people enjoed the demo, and those who arent going to buy it now, well, what can i say, your loss.
