Thou has saved thy peasants from slaughter

Found a simple way to solve the peasant and ballista problem for the A.I. Make the requirements for peasants a siege engineers workshop. Now they have very few provinces in wich to train peasants from and are competition with ballistas. Now how do you minmize the number of ballistas trained. Double the price of a siege engineer and make the siege engineer workshop 1 florin also make it 1 year build time as that minimizes the amount of time they have to train crap. Boom the A.I. is pumping out catapults and throw in an occasional peasant or ballista(although catapults are'nt much better at least they can do damage on the battle field)

Making any building 1 florin will promote the comp to build it fast for your knowledge and for that matter guarantees they will from what I have observed. So you could make a county guard with a steep price and then make a swordsmith and a spearmaker 1 florin if you want to promote better troops while cutting down on the archers and urban militias they train

Another thing I'm looking into modding is the upkeep for bodyguards. I'm thinking of making the upkeep dirt cheap but making the price to train them 2k. This would seem to help out the danes and arogonese as to minimize the punishment of there kings for having sex.

So you promodders what do you think a good balance would be. It might even be fair to have there upkeep at zero but bump up the price even higher such as 3k. 1 BIG question though when a prince comes of age are his bodyguards free or is there a charge to this(if so the only solution may be too make bodyguards untrainable out of fairness so the only replacements you get is a token for having sex). Because if I make em dirt cheap the comp might spam em out while I would use a bit of iron man rules and train the for replacements, and me being the nice guy about it might get screwed for being the nice guy. Then again since I play on huge units bodyguards are much more easily overwhelmed as there size does not increase.
