Questions about crusades

I play GA camapaigns, with Sicilians and now I'm in 1184. So I have 20 years left to conquer crusades territories. But before, I have to know some details :

- After 1204, when crusades are finishing, could I lost the bonus points if I lost the conquest territory (Palestine, Antioche, Tripoli...) or those points are definitly won ?

- Could I "steal" the bonus points if my crusade beat another crusade faction in her conquest (before & after 1204).


Something else.
Why I can't build fire galley ? I have castle and dockyard and, in techtree, it should be possible to build level 2 boats. Maybe I have to wait high era ? ...

You gain the GA crusade points immediately upon conquering the territory. Even if you lose it five years later, the points remain.

Not sure about the fire boats, sorry.

if you have VI i am quite sure that you need to wait until 1205. the MTW 1.1 techtree that comes with the game is useless in certain aspects due to the changes that VI brought to the game.
edit: just want to clarify that i am talking about fireboats, NOT crusades

From reading another thread in the Main Hall section, it appears that there is a bug with crusades and glorious achievements. Fortunately I have not encountered it. Crusades are supposed to give you the points immediately upon capturing the territory. Though Galien, note that you don't get the points untill you eliminate any garison that may remain. ~;)

Since the game year is 1184, you might not have the time to build a crusade and if any of the crusader provinces are held by people that the Pope thinks are good catholics, he won't let you crusade against them. Just launch a regular seabourne invasion of the Holy Land.

Your biggest problem is going to be holding both the provinces and the garrisons until after 1205 to secure the GA points. You will have a massive counter attack in the 1-2 years after you invade.

Regarding ship building, most ships that require a level 2 shipbuilder can't be built until the High Era and the ships that require a level 3 or 4 shipbuilder cannot be built until the late era, infact the advanced shipbuilders can't be built until the discovery of gunpowder in 1260.

Yes, I've done this terrible experience.
I've invaded Palestine yet. Egyptians were very angry.
Three years later, it was over. All my Crusade was reposed in heaven, and Palestine was hbecome again egyptian...

With VI you only get fire galley's after 1205 (high era) in the early era you can only build dromons and gallerys
