I had to see this to believe it but the TW engine has been ripped off and put into a new NTW but not by CA, it a totla revamp of the old one, with the ability to control your own Naval battles. I CAN"T BELEIVE SOMEBODY DID THIS
I think it looks good, took a good idea and ran with it.

1) there already are about three threads here in the org about this game
2) i really dont think this is a rip-off of the TW engine
3) even if it is (although i doubt it is anything more than someone who thought it would be cool to have a game with the same style as TW, only Napoleonic) i really dont (personally) have a problem with it, just one more cool game for me to buy :P
I guess I should say that I don't care if it is a ripoff of the TW engine or not. I'd rather have more games to play than less games to play.
Initially, I thought they were an absolute clone myself (aside from the eye-poppingly appealling and unique naval battles).
But that is not the case. Soldiers in each unit can garrison buildings and hide behind trees. Each empire has a different political system. There's dependency on food, assimiliation of new territories, etc.
They just took the Total War Turn-based with 3d-battles approached format but they are trying to make a game on their own. ~:cool:
Hey, if its fun, power to them. Thank god developers have begun to see that command and conqueresque games are not the only option.

and BTW, NTW was not done by CA, NTW is simply a mod made by some really cool people called the Lordz.
Imperial Glory is made by Pyro, the same guys who developed and issued Praetorians (another RTS 3d game) last year. Not exactly a rip-off...more a validation that 3D is the way to go in RTS-genre games.
