I've never had any problem with peasants destroying heavier units like you describe.

I think you meant to say

Ever seen the A.I. have these high quality troops other than from a rebellion
I guess I was a bit vague in my post but it was my golden armoured troops with silver and bronze swords getting chewed up. And it was mainly peasant class troops taking my guys down. This would be the first game I ever turtled as I was playing as the Danes and the comp does'nt have that nasty attitude until you are in competition for being the largest empire. Plus all other campaigns I played I do'nt have silver armoured troops (in decent amounts) until I have 60 percent of the map.
Anyways the game was already won with 2 and a half million florins in reserve plus I did'nt feel like dealing with Englands 100,000 man rebellion. Was doing some tweaking and was making England a huge empire. England was already well off and was in competition for a strong navy with me. Both our incomes were right around 50 k florins when it was all said and done. So I fried the Spanish line for them Then I tried the HRE but even with no heir the 3 following elections did'nt start a rebellion, but they were small anyways. So I fried the Italian bloodline And after that all other Bloodlines that were killed off were quickly swept up by England. So heres England stretching from the steppes, North Africa all the way to the British Isles. Only thing that was left was the Byzantines with pretty much what they started off with minus naples and me who Owned the rest of the steppes Scandinavia Ireland Portugal, Sicily and Rhodes. Oh and the Sicilians were left to rott in Malta,.
I was even Englands big ally, when the pope decided to go from exile to executed I made sure England kept Italy. Plus occasionally the English would be under siege and I would relieve it. What no port ...... the English made me buy my troops back but was no big deal to me sure heres some money and please spend it well. They had decent #'s of Billmen CMA's and all the other goodies. Not as good as a humans selection for an army but a decent army overall. Well anyways the dumb English blockade themselves by breaking there line of ships and the English empire went to crud all in 1 turn. I think I allopwed them to get about 70 percent domination. Well anyways it caused the Polish to come back with 25,000 troops the Italians with 35'000, I did'nt eye the popes troops to well but maybe 10,000 there. The Egyptians with 10'000 troops. The Horde with 15,000 troops(who got a bum deal 90 percent missile troops). And then there were just the plain rebels wich added maybe another 20,000 troops or more to the map. The Polish went ahead and made b-line for Denmark with 20'000 troops (I believe there intentions were to sack it because it had every possible unique building possible) luckily it was a fortress fully upgrade with cannon towers so I could relieve it.
Now I know the downfall to stockpiling troops is you risk huge re-emergences because it tallies in the factor of how many troops are on the board.
All that work and the game went to shit all because the dumb A.I. could'nt keep a straight line of ships. The problem is I've face the Golden horde before and really was'nt lookin at have 30 plus battles with 10000 men or more wich now has to be done. Anyways with the soon release of RTW the game woulda been canned anyways.

What difference does it make if the peasants are yours or the AI's?
If you were using very heavily armoured units in the desert then its *your own* fault you got beat - its not a bug.
* UNITS WITH HEAVY ARMOUR IN THE DESERT GET EXHAUSTED
* EXHAUSED UNITS WILL GET TRASHED BY PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING, INCLUDING PEASANTS.
* THEREFORE DONT USE HEAVILY ARMOURED UNITS IN THE DESERT OR YOU WILL LOSE
Is that clear enough?
And then you go on to state that (1) You already know that having huge stockpiles of troops causes rebellions to have similarly huge stacks, (2) knowing this, you keep stockpiles of troops anyway, and then (3) youre upset, because the very thing you would expect to happen in such a situation has just happened!
Are you just in a mood to complain today, or something?

I recall defending Antioch after taking it in a crusade against Egypt with 9 stacks of Fanatics (and other assorted forces). I SWARMED a unit of sacaren infantry on 3 of it's sides with 4 units of fanatics. It was hilarious. I'm suprised I won as I usually tank and barely squeak out victoies in the desert. From now on I will flesh out most of my Catholic desert forces with fanatics.

Or grab Scotland and use Highlanders instead: they have the same speed, better combat stats, add a small shield and starting valour of 1 plus you can actually build them & thus reinforce depleted units. The fanatics only beat them on unit size (100 vs 60) & morale (8 vs 2, assuming standard starting valour).
Add Gallowglasses for a slower, shieldless but better defended armor-piercing variant and you have a very useful sustainable desert force of infantry.

I tried using clansmen late in the game when I finally got around to killing the eggys, but they routed shortly after making contact with Sacaren infantry. I had 2 clan units per one unit of sacaren, but as soon as the camels entered the fight the scots ran like schoolgirls. I thought "this is wrong on so many levels." :shame:

What I actually meant was that peasants have a high charge of 4, which helps in the killing. Plus they have numbers, 100 men. Your case may be a little extreme and they may be other factors involved.
Anyway, you can see the valour of the units (the number of small triangluar flags). However, too small units may not be able to carry all their flags (since each man carries 1 and one has to carry the main unit banner. So, you can judge the relative strengths of the units.

Never had remergences occur (since I dont take on the Pope till the last). 120% loyalty stops all remergences. Remergences can occur on rebel held lands or AI faction lands but those arent my problems.

Not trying to be argumentative or anything, but I had one re-emergance of the HRE in Muscovy when that province was mine and had 200% loyalty the year before the re-emergance. Delayed my finishing the campaign by 6 years as I was massing for the final assault on the single re-emerged Sicilians province (malta) ... oh, and I didn't own the province when it re-emerged much earlier in the game, the HRE did (minor FYI) ... and the papacy then I had to move a BUNCH of units onto a land locked province. I had thoroughly beaten the AI in battle and on the map and owned all but 2 provinces when this happened. Because I had owned so much for so long (without any re-emergences), I figured it was some counter balancing thing like the negative V&V's that come late in the game, but whatever.

Mmm, interesting. Never had that happen to me before. Hard to say what actually happened. I have heard of last minute massive drops in loyalty and subsequent rebellions in the old MTW (I play VI 2.01). Maybe that had been the case for you or something else. Hard to say.
