How to move without changing facing/orientation?

It's nice being able to use < and > to change a stationary units facing, but what happened to being able to move without changing facing? Pre-engagement maneuvering sucks without it. It's bad enough not being able to keep a custom formation. Please tell it's in there, how do I do it in RTW?

Something tells me large battles are going to be a micro management nightmare.

The only way I've been able to keep formation/orientation is this:

- arrange the units how you want
- group them
- 'drag click' anywhere and you can pivot the 'set' formation of units anywhere

* if you make a mistake on where you wanted them simply left click and it will cancel your intended order before giving it
