very annoying video problem

Hi there, im have a very persistent and rather frustrating problem...

About 3 out of 5 times i try to run the game (rtw..), my monitor will get a no imput signal and switch to powersaving mode for no apparent reason! :help: , this also happens almost as often when i try to start a battle from campaign mode.

I have tampered with my monitor and and video card setting in every way i can think might help but nothing seems to have a permanent effect, it will work perfectly for about 3 battles and suddenly will happen again !. i've also tried switching monitors but it makes no difference.

The strange thing is, even when i do not touch my graphics or display settings the problem will still come and go randomly, sometimes it will run fine, and other times it will repeatedly not!!.

heres some basic specs :

ATI Radeon 9600
AMD athlon XP 2600+
80 gb hard disk
512 mb RAM
