innocent questions

I've looked all over for answers to a couple questions I have, but haven't found anything. And some querries in other threads haven't generated any responses. So....does anyone know how to change the bloody pause key from "P" to "pause"? I tried changing it in one file, (can't remember which one, now) that listed PAUSE = P, and changed it to PAUSE = PAUSE. Bad move. Each key then worked at times, and neither worked at times. Had to change it back. Having to hunt for P is a pain when the pause key is "exposed" on the keyboard.
Yes, I do realize I'm set in my ways and don't like change.

Has anyone figured out how to unlock the camera? I'm beginning to get claustrophobic. It's not too bad in open field, but most fighting seems to occur in town or cities, now, and you can't see more than a couple units at a time. Nasty! Yeah, if you want to see what your cities look like, just hit the little button and it shows you your city. No it doesn't! It only shows me small "parts" of my city. Would love to have some overviews.

Last, but not least, I've been campaigning on Huge, and it's pretty cool, but when I tried to play a custom last night, the game reverted to "mini" units, even though the Order Menu was showing the full sized units. Do Custom games automatically default to Small?
