Difficult Rating - Fractions in Rome

Hi...
In medival there was a difficult rating for each fraction rome does not have this function therfore I wonder if how people would rate the fraction with which they have played the campaign.


here are the ones I have tested
Rome Scripii - Easy : Lots of easy picking in africa (Carthago) and Scily

Spain - Very very Hard : No money, no great units, war on at least two fronts and divided territories....edging on impossible this one...

Egypt - Very Easy : Great starting provinces...quiet easy picking in asia...some great units (egyptian chariot archers)

Selucide Empire - Normal : Many Great units, very rich however lots of enemies...maybe to large an empire in the begining

Armenia - Normal : Great units (horse archerss), bad location and economy but you can quiet easily grab a lot of money of pontus or parthia

Scythia - Normal-Hard : Very bad provinces and economy but strong units and very easy to pick of a few provinces of diverse nabours...

Greek - Normal : Great economy...little bit to divided at the start and the absence of cavalry is noticable...however the right use of phalanx is very strong...

Dacia - Very very Hard : Weak units no great cavalry, bad position, no economy to speak of, surrounded by enemies...

Rome Julii - Easy if you can break the Gauls in Northern Italy quickly. Your opponents are always of a much poorer quality than yours and most can't even build stone walls. That said, the provinces you conquer are not the richest and your economy will struggle more than the other Roman factions.

I'd put the Seleucid Empire in as Hard myself, although they eventually turn into an unstoppable juggernaught of stabby death later on, their starting position can turn into a steaming pile of feces in double quick time if you're not careful.

Carthage is medium.

You will have a hard time initially against the Romans, but fortify Sicily and Sardinia and conquer Spain and Numidia in your rear, and your sea trade will make you rich.

Cavalry and Elephants are your weapons of choice, forget about your Infantry.

ROFL. :sultan: I can't explain it, but something about that formulation -- "unstoppable juggernaught of stabby death" has me crying. Sometimes somebody puts it just so, just right, and it kills me.

Brittania is normal, I'd say. They're easily stronger than the Gauls and Germans nearby, but the problem is that you have only one city on the mainland and it starts off pretty weak. If you can consolidate your position and take Ireland, it gets a lot easier though. Light Chariots and Swordsmen are fabulous.

Brutii- Hard. Holdings in Southern Italy are poor, with Greek lands not being enough to compensate. Forced to fight two great naval powers, Greece and Macedon, in an area where you must ferry troops across the adriatic or have to take a roundabout rout to the Greek peninsula. Also, the lack of Triarii makes you vulnerable to Macedonian cavalry.

julii - medium, all your enemies are easy, until you take on the greek cities/carthage/other roman factions, but your economy really struggles, as your big cities in italy (for me anyway) never get positive income, as they get almost all your troop upkeep costs. The gallic, spanish, germainan and britanian cities don't get much money...
