Population growth and rebellions=$$$$$$$

35,000 people kick my garrison out, next turn they give me a nice 50k in denari's for wasting my time. Repeat every 20 years for best results.

So how is sqalour and unrest and all that other stuff so bad.

Well I did'nt want to be an executioner in this game but it's the only way to maintain an empire.

LMAO yeah just make sure you take down any armories or Foundrys first so they arent decked out in the latest gear ~:cool:

But it is fun to slaughter innocent peasants. Especially those DAMN CORDUBIANS.

Its not that unmanageable, i've only had one rebellion in my game. Which was funnily enough Corduba when I wasn't paying attention. I have had my share of riots though. But really, i'm at 37 regions right now, if it was that broken i'd have experienced it alot more. I'm playing on very hard campaign difficulty as well, though i'm not sure how that affects things. I am more used to dealing with making my pop happy though, lots of hours wasted on the Civ series.

I've wasted so many hours on civ 2 and 3, yet, in those games, the system is more balanced.

I just get fed up of balancing my damn loyalty score, and "reset" it....brutally.

I force rebellions by moving out the garrison, then sending them+reinforcements back in to slaughter the population.

Indeed, I think it is the only way. Do all you can to make the people happy, then kill them all. Then do all you can to make the people happy, then kill them all. Then do all you can to make....ad infinitum...

And RTW, a really cool game in its own right, could learn a thing or two from Civ3. This may be heresy to say on these boards. I am new so I don't know for sure, but heresy or no, RTW could learn a thing or two from Civ3.

And vice versa. While I'm at it I may go hit up the civfanatics board. :charge:

I have a city of 27,000 inhabitants and I am having to hold games every month to keep them happy. Plus the squalor level is something like 65-70% ~:eek: . Will I be in trouble soon? I have built an aquaduct and quite a few other things but it just seems like there are too many people living there. Its got good troop-training facilities too and I'll be damned if the populous decides to rebel! :(
