I hope that Rome will earn my vote in the future, but right now it's MTW:VI

I put Medieval Total War. I have Viking Invasion, but I prefer the regular campaign. Maybe it would have been more correct to put Viking Invasion, though. :dizzy2: Oh well!

I wasn't a big fan of the cavalry "bump" in VI but overall I think it's the best TW.

Definitely Rome, both for the gameplay and the historical environment (I'm from Rome...)
i played MTW VI for like 3000+ hours over the past several years

never take more than 12 credit hours so u can have plenty of gaming time lol
i voted for Rome because in my meager 30-40 hours of playing it so far i must say i do love this game more than Medieval VI...they both rule but new games tend to be better than their predecessors...
and ROME TW is my new favorite goodbye Medieval ~D
Dont we all Octavian :P plz take into concideration Online mode, Campaign and Custom modes and all bugs, and ease to move and control units and amount of selection in game options and with units/maps.

Definitely Rome TW. I've played all the incarnations, but Rome is the best at everything. The battles look magnificent, the campaign map looks cool, and the new diplomacy/subterfuge system is a great improvement. It is a little buggy at the moment, but then so was Medieval and look how that turned out!

for me, its definetly Rome. I enjoyed Shogun a great deal being a fan of the Wars of Unification, and I did enjoy MI, I just wasnt into that period of history, and for me thats part of the fun of the game. Being a big ancient history buff, I enjoy Rome a great deal more heh.
For me, it's a tossup between Rome and VI.
For now, I'm voting VI. When Rome's bugs get fixed, I will switch over to that as my fav, most likely.
Rome is beautiful, but there are some serious bugs that irritate the crap out of me. I've been playing as Macedon, and the pathfinding bugs are just kicking my butt more than the enemy's troops- and that's not the only bug that drives me nuts.
Shogun.
Overall, I think MTW was the best, but I played that like it was the end of the world. I put RTW because so far its AWESOME!!

If RTW gets the fixing it needs, it'll probably take top place, but for now, MTW gets my vote. I voted for MTW, as opposed to VI, because I didn't like the VI campaign much. But I prefer MTW with the additions that VI added to it.

Shogun is cool, but I really didnt like it much because of setting and size.
Medieval:Viking Invasion is the best, because the original Medieval campaigns are gigantic and very well done and vikings are my favorite historical group and their pagan days being my favorite historical time period.
Rome:Total War is up there though, I like everything about it. You should of seen me the first time I played the full game I just kept going 'WOAHHHHHH SO COOL' over and over.
Same here, I didn't enjoy the viking campaign as much as the original one but the extra features from VI were very useful ie. the pre-battle screen was better (wish Rome had something similer so you could organise the way re-inforcements came in)Quote:

they're all winners i guess :
STW : for giving the transition from table top wargaming to virtual wargaming it's first important step.
MTW : for the classic MP tactical game
RTW : for the SP strat play
IF RTW evolves via patches into giving half the MP fun of MTW then it's set to be played ad finitum. If not, i hope there's some way of independantly supporting the MTW server for inter clan games & tourneys etc. Because at the moment the prevalence of cheaters & the ambiguity of the replays has made RTW less than attractive to a lot of the old community.
I voted a while ago, but didn't bother to comment. I voted for VI, because I enjoy the expanded MTW single player campaign. Rome's Single Player is weak.
Rome: Total War all the way.
Smarter, tougher, and the graphics rock even though huge units make my computer have a nervous breakdown.

I'm not sure it's fair to include MTW and VI separately there (especially if you don't include the Shogun expansions) - VI is absolutely nothing without Medieval (you can't even play it!)
So I voted for VI, with the obvious assumption that it's with MTW. I think actually that MTW is the best, but there are some very nice additions in VI (including its own campaign mode which I thoroughly enjoy).
Rome looks good, but it's a shame it's going to cost me a lot more than £40 to play it - I'm going to have to shell out for a new comp before it will work properly for me (and my current one's not exactly bad...)
The increase in both graphics and gameplay that MTW had over Shogun make it far superior, IMHO, but whilst the gameplay in Rome seems to have many, many improvements, I simply think that they've gone too with the graphics - I'm sure TCA will lose some very loyal fans because of this, even if those fans want to stay!
YESSSS!!!!! another shoggy fan... ~:grouphug: it has the best atmosphere and eveything else bar graphics is prolly the best in the series. I've always thought that gameplay was more important than graphics. Sorry not a real vanilla shoggy fan, only have WE :furious3:Quote:
