What to do with my old PC Mags?
I have dozens of PC Gamers & PC Zones from 1998 - 2003 stuck in box in the loft from when I used to subscribe to them both.
I am in many ways a hoarder and I hate to throw stuff out, especially stuff that I think I might find useful - you never know when I might need to dig out the March 1999 issue of PC Gamer in order to read their review of C&C -Tiberian Sun, y'know? :book:
Or when I might want to dig out the demo disk from 1998 with International Cricket Captain on......
Truth is, I'm finding it increasingly hard to justify keeping a big heavy box in the loft, especially when I want to reduce the amount of stuff - specifically weight - up there. So I figure I have several options
1) Keep them, keep them all! Pack rats of the world unite!
2) Get rid of them all, preferably by recycling
3) Try and flog them on ebay (is there a market for 2nd hand 5 year old PC magazines?)
4) Keep them for another year, if you never look at them once, then sling them (this is my usual loft rule for stuff)
5) Go through them all and keep the ones that you really, really think you might want
I really should have made this a poll..........and I never even mentioned all the cover disks! ~D
Re: What to do with my old PC Mags?
#5 then do #2 with the rest. If you do #4 you will forget about them and cover them up with more stuff :)
#3 is one of those hmmm :huh2: things...it might be a waste of time but you never know...especially if they all have demo discs :deal:
Re: What to do with my old PC Mags?
lol mount i do exactly the same thing i have a huge stash of old pc magazines and demo discs. I justify the discs incase i want to play an old demo and the magazines incase i need an old cheat but with the internet and a broadband connection i think its just because im nostalgic.
btw you can look at old reviews on pc zones website review archive.
personally i just 1) but if not 5) then 3) and anything else 2)
Re: What to do with my old PC Mags?
I make sure to give my PC mags away every month to people who don't feel like paying/subscribing to them. Why? To avoid getting into just this situation.
It's too late now. You can't give them away. Oh, the humanity. The humanity.
