Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
K thx
I am glad to say I think we have all ur bugs. I read this over quickly, so an SPer would give u a better answer I think.
Erado has a list of SP bugs over at .com btw, u might like to check that list.
Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
Nice,
Can a moderator please move this topic to Colosseum Forum? And explain me why i can´t post there? ~
Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
Comments:
IIRC, armies who lose the battle, and half less than 1/4 their starting men, get completely disbanded, and their population goes to nearby settlements.
AI have blocked my port once or twice, so they DO block ports, just not often at all.
I would like to see a "climb siege tower" ability, where units climb the tower, but NOT disembark onto the walls, even when the drawbrigde thing is down. The reason I think siege towers are (slightly) underpowered is that after the initial charge down, the men trickle up 1 by 1.
And finally, I readily agree; rebels need to be more aggressive (but not suicidally so) and AI needs to be much more aggressive to them.
btw-- You gotta have a certain number of posts and show a certain maturity level before being "promoted" to being able to post on the other fora (or is that forums?) As a side note, my old account (Clownmite) had that status, but unfortunately I took a break, forgot my password, and don't remember my email address I used for that account. If the mods can grant me regular patron status, it would be much appreciated, but I have no way of proving myself, so its understandable if you don't believe me.
Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
You should be able to login on the old forum (now acting as support forum) https://forums.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi send a PM to TosaInu about your new email and he can fix it.

Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
Bugs,bugs and bugs.
Strange that forums with anything to do with RTW sound like a Starshiptroopers script...'BUGS!!'
I thing RTW is an awesome game, with a fantastic premise and has obviously had vast amounts of personal effort (and all the emotions that entails) put in to its creation.
I am of the opinion that RTW was release in accordance with an extremely oppressive dead-line...think about it.
If you had worked so hard on a project like this...made a supreme effort to create an engine, new diplomacy system and the rest...released it before you felt it was ready and were slammed by your target audience for it...would you reply? Could you reply?
"Yes, we at CA understand your concerns...we knew it was buggy, but Activision made us do it.." Not likely huh?
I'll bet all my sesterses that a massive address of all these issues is well in hand. Patience...it IS a virtue...
Even with the bugs...can you tell me anywhere else I can command beautifully
rendered troops in a manner such as RTW? Nowhere.
As far as the bugs go...I treat them as the chaos factor.
Some battles...you just can't win. Some bargains just cannot be struck...and some people will just not listen to reason.
Frightened men wearing 100 pounds of armour and weapronry will do crazy things in order to live. Horses were the kings of the battlefield and elephants, well, they scare the crap outta me...
Arrows are pointy and actually hit things, and most importantly..the best laid plans of mice and men go oft astray...OFT.
60 year old men should probably not charge formations in battle...even routing ones.
I think that about covers it.
I await your flames...

Re: ROME TOTAL WAR Bugs!!!
Given that MTW is my favourite game of all time, I admit I have a bit of a soft spot for TCA.
I'm okay with a few minor bugs here and there - and even the occasional major one, so long as it doesn't happen too often. I'm pretty confident that the vast majority of the bugs will be worked out in time, via patches. I am certain that TCA will respond, and that the response will be in the form of further patches - the best response, in my opinion. People often miss deadlines, or have to rush things out to meet them. Perhaps TCA could have planned better and got a few more people onboard to work on Rome. Or perhaps there was some major foul-up near the end, which they had no way of preparing for.
What annoys me is the "evolution" in graphics, which makes this game effectively unplayable on my poor laptop :'(
