If you are talking about the eagle legions. They boost moral.
I've heard that they confer the same morale bonus as would a general in the vicinity, which makes them fairly powerful.
and as if it was a general, if you lose them you take a morale hit
But how do you get a legion eagle anyway? (I'm still at my first campaign, I've got an eagle legion... bribed it out from the Scipii, ~D )
I believe you can get them Post Marius when you build a certain upgrade temple or barracks, not sure which it is
They are only available as gifts from the Senate, unless you modify the game to allow you to build them.
I've also heard that they can be awarded after senate missions. I've never even seen one in campaign battle, and it's making me want to play another Roman faction.
Can we get an eagle if the senate faction is gone? Is an urban barracks required? Or must a certain level of senate popularity be achieved?
The Roman world wonders...
You will only get it when you compleat a mission for the senate. When I was playing as Brutii I got twice eagle legions. My first one was made of early legionaries and the second legionaries.
As it should be, the worst thing that could happen to a real legion was to lose its eagle.Quote:

If you're happy to do some modding, go see this thread for a guide how to make the First Cohorts buildable in Rome. It gives an extra reason to conquer Rome, either allowing you to finally get the troops or to retrain those you have.
