I had only recently finished a war with Eygpt which saw them go from a mighty empire to a few desert provences. I was preparing for my march on Rome when I got the blockade Bastra mission. Not wanting to reignite an old war. I decided to offer to buy Bastra from them. Not thinking I had a hope in hell I offered them 100,000d [I'd owned Greece for 80 odd years by then so had 700,000d in the bank] To my surprise they took me up on my offer. So I avoided starting the war, but unfortunately shafted my allies whom I'd been financially surporting in their wars against Eygpt :embarassed:
The revitalised Eygptians went on the offensive. A few years later I slaughtered the population of Rome to demonstrate how annoyed I was with them ~D
