Death of Plague upon victory?
Does anyone else notice that when they win a siege vs. a city that has plague, their general immediately dies of it? I've had this happen to me a few times, it's very annoying and I think it's a bug, but maybe I've just been really unlucky. As far as I can remember, I was beseiging and the defenders sallied. After wiping them out mostly, the city would be mine, and the army would enter, but as it entered the general would immediately die of plague. So should I then never besiege cities with plague using a family member led army?
Lost my awesome Gaius Victor, the conqueror of Egypt while besieging Alexandria like this :furious3: :help:
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
Just bad luck for you. unfortanately my army also did the same thing, I was about to assault a city that had the plague so instead I starved them out. Unfortanetely they sallied and I killed too many of there men. So what do my men do they just march right on in.
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
I don't think it is a bug because i did capture a city with plague and my
Gaius the Great survived to fight another day. :charge:
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
I captured a city with 9 generals and none died of the plague. But they got it and it wouldn't go away!
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
Bah! I got Gaius Victor once. He may be good, but he is not a rightful member of your family! He is a Victor, not a Julius!
Anyway, sort of the same thing happened to me when I was playing as the Greeks and I conquered Thessalonica, just before the macedonian plague started. My best general was infected by the plague, but he isn't dead yet.
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
best is to seige plage city wit a captain and a sizeable army........... ~D
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
Actually, it's odd, but when my city with the plague was sieged, no one in the city died from the plague. I wish I could convince some more people to siege it, would help cut down casualties.

had the same thing happen to me, it really sucked. :furious3:
as the saying goes; you win some, you loose some. ~;)
Re: Death of Plague upon victory?
One thing I've learnt when sieging cities that recently had the plague is get a spy to check for enemy agents who might still be carriers. Otherwise when your victorious army marches in they promptly get infected, the city gets reinfected and your plans for world domination get derailed. Took me 3 generals to work that out :furious3:
So I now add an v4+ assassin to my army stack (if I can afford it and have got one)
