Re: Eve Online - free trial
plus theres an expansion in the works which should be out in the next month (free of course) which will add a tonne of new things to do
im a veteran of this now and will keep at it probably until matrix online comes out (im in the Beta and it rocks)
Re: Eve Online - free trial
Wouldn't mind trying out EVE online... looks interesting.
Re: Eve Online - free trial
I'll need an email address to be able to send you the trial account. Could you send me a PM with the address please?
Re: Eve Online - free trial
I gave it try last night, thanks Caz, expecting to be on for about 30 minutes, 3 hours later the wife shouting at me telling me it's time I went to my bed or I'd never get up for work. :beadyeyes2:
I am not usually into space games, prefering the fantasy swords and sorcery type, but this one caught my interest. It is very in depth and I would think it will take me a while to get the hang of it but I am looking forward to doing so.
All in all I would recommend giving it a try.
Re: Eve Online - free trial
I'm doing some pre-reading.
Do you suggest making a jack-of-all trades or a specialist miner/pilot/trader?
Re: Eve Online - free trial
Pape the thing about eve is for the First 2 months you HAVE to be a specialist in what you want to be for the rest of your time - for me it was training my combat skills so at the end of the 2 months when i could build a BS i could go straight into combat - once you have that you can do ANYTHING you want - ive built up mining and building skills since tho i still spend more time training combat
give Cuthrid a mail on the inside if u need a hand or if u catch me when im on just ask if u have problems (hell ill buy you all a lvl 3 frig ~D )
Re: Eve Online - free trial
There are many approaches to Eve. I disagree with Sir Moody on this one. You don't HAVE to do anything. I did the exact opposite of Sir Moody. I did a little bit of everything at the start and became a specialist of nothing. I think it made it more fun for me than specialising but it also gave me a slower start.
My main advice is to do just what you feel like doing unless you're in a hurry to get somewhere.
Re: Eve Online - free trial
Im interrested in such an invite as well, if you got anymore, I'll even give you a couple of gmail invites if you need them?
Re: Eve Online - free trial
well what you say is true caz but in the long run it is better to specalise - i spent one month getting into my first BS and a month after equiping it to the level i needed after that the last 4 months have been set i can do prety much what ever i want now the BS and equipment allow me to make millions off rat loot (and im talking 9 digits here) which funds my other vices... if u spend a month or 2 taking on prof and getting it to reasonable level be it combat, mining or trading you can give yourself a big head start - once thats over you can do what ever you want with the secure knowledge you have a well developed proffession to fall back on if u need it
another good peice of advice is get in good with a corp or alliance it makes Eve tha tmuch more fun
Re: Eve Online - free trial
Maybe we could have a Total War corp?
