The STW Campaign Map

Here is the map I made for the STW campaign. It took me forever to make from screenshots of the actual SP campaign map. I am currently working on the other pics which will include a build order as well as an explanation of what each building produces/upgrades. I will also have a unit page which contains info such as cost and a few other computations which will effect gameplay.

You may not be able to read the province names very well from this link, because it scales it to fit the page, but the .jpg which will be on the website is much larger and easily read. You may have a small icon on the bottom right of the pic which will allow you to view it full size.

I wanted to let everyone know I AM working on it. It was just an extremely complicated and time-consuming process to make this map. :)

I will continue to update you guys on the status of the game as I complete each part. I am also rewriting the rules since I lost the original rules from the previous campaigns. doh!! :)

Looks good! Glad to see everything is coming along just fine even if it is taking you rather longer than you expected. Good preparation is the key to success....

Very nice looking map Elmark. It looks like an old map scroll. I thought you may still have had your map from the old multiplayer campaign and wouldn't have to go through making a whole new map.

Just in case you're not aware of it and are looking for a way so expand things in the future, barocca made his STWmod campaign with 15 clans starting on the same map. So, it would be a way to handle more players, but more work as well. Also, AI resolved battles would probably have to be fought with STWmod.

hehe The old campaign maps just did not have the look I wanted.

I want to make the campaign feel as close to the SP campaign as possible. I thought the atmosphere of the campaign will be very important in keeping everyone interested and would also highlight how important some features are for MP.

I am currently posting in the other forums and will also ask CA if they would like to play in the campaign, once I get the site finished and they see how it is set up. It would be a fun, relaxing way for the developers and community to interact. It might also have the benefit of healing up some of the old wounds from past events. I think CA could benefit from the experience and maybe come up with some good ideas for implementing the tools necessary for allowing such a campaign to be held with future TW games.

Krypta is tearing through the Shogun maps. I think he has done six so far, and all very well done. We played a 2v2 STWmod on Buzen last night, and it was awesome! Poor Shingens thought they were safe on the hill. :) We're still working on the stat, but it's definitely getting there.

I will leave the option open to the participants to play their battles using the MTW SHogun mod and its maps. THat way when you guys feel like going one on one you can. :)
