I can't seem to bring down the level of squalor in one of my towns no matter what I do. I've built seweres and public baths and generaly teched the town upo as a money making venture ratrher than military but the squalor is still there, Any Ideas ??????
You can't bring down squalor, not with city buildings anyway. There exist a few traits and retinues that do reduce squalor directly, but these are minimal at best. What the temples and sewers and arenas and whatnot do, is that they produce effects that counter squalor. They don't reduce squalor, it will always be there.
Not long ago a good post dealt with these issues, if you make a quick search you'll find it.
