Re: One city per close up!
Not only that, this is one feature the pisses me off. Only geographical features are rendered off map. Anything else just isn't there. Haven't you noticed that even roads only go to the edge of the battlemap.
It anoyes me that CA spent time arranging the constalations in night battle, but didn't even bother to do these simple things.

I don't suppose there's a way to let a city adhere to a certain template or format? Like using the London in the random battle (Londinium) as a basis for the actual campaign city?
It is possible. I've posted a thread about editing city plans at twcenter. It's a hard work, and we'd need a program to do this, or else one would spend months just doing one city... hopefully, something will work out.

Re: One city per close up!
Thanks for the headsup Eadingas will try it out. My problem for my WASP mod is that I want to represent a truckload of historic and famous cities, many with very distinct looks - London, Paris, Berlin, Moskva, St Petersberg, Venice, Turin, Milan, Rome of course, etc. I will try testing an actual battle in the vicinity of Southwark and London to see if both cities or one or none (!) appear.
Yeah and I see what the others are getting really frustrated about. On the surface this should be the most moddable game of the series but there are so many things that are locked down hardcoded and unmoddable that when you see indications like hints of an editor or changable victory conditions or night battles it just makes it worse. All I think should have been easily implimentable - just looking at Vercingetorix's contributions you wonder why they weren't finished like they should have. It's a real royal pain particularly when you start working on a thing and run into things that might render it useless.
Thanks again!
Clare
Re: One city per close up!
BTW Eadingas I don't suppose it's possible to let the game use one of these pre-done cities like Londinium or Rome? Like assign them such and such city plan? These two I know exist already at least as custom battle maps.
Thanks,
Clare
