If you were to build a dream team of the best units in RTW what would be the Best Sword, Best Spear, Best Missle and Best Horse for you?
I havent tried all factions so Im a bit limited but
Best Sword: Falxmen (these guys still give my Roman troops nightmares)
Best Spear: Spartan Hoplites
Best Missile: Balearic Slingers (nice kill rate and they dont massacre as much as their own men like the Cretan Archers)
Best Horse: Sacred Band Cavalry
Best Sword: Urban Cohort (cheat, but eh)
Best Spear: Spartan Hoplite (no explanation needed)
Best Missle: Forester Warband (I love these guys, especialy for their hit and run capablities)
Best Horse: I have to go with Cataphract, they just look so cool.
IMHO
Sword: Urbies
Spear: Spartans
Missile: Tie with Foresters and Chosens
(Chosens have better armor and melee)
Axe: Chosen Axemen or Berserkers (ugh another tie)
Sling: Balearics or Rhodians
Horse: Cataphracts
Chariot: Amazons (look it up!)
Skirmisher: Spanish Mercs
HA: Scythian Noble Archers (duh)
Stealth: Arcani
Well, that was a bit spur of the moment and not to well thought out, but what the heck.
Sword - Urban cohorts
Spear - Spartan hoplites
Missile - Cataphract horse archers
Cavalry - Armoured war elephants
Skirmisher - Libyan mercenaries
