Ai armies suffer from lack of upgrading.

I hesitate to raise another subject about the ai but I would still like to hear peoples thoughts on this.

Playing RTR 5.0 Gaul and struggling, everyone hates me and send large non upgraded stacks against me. I have a few armies of upgraded guys (love those Senone Slingers) and whip their asses constantly but with Britons/Germans/Carthage/Iberia/Dacia/Romans/Spqr all fighting me it hard to keep my head above water, nevertheless the inability of the ai to upgrade it troops means that I constantly have these huge victories. If the ai concentrated more on building a quality army I really would be dead-meat.

Can anything be done about this( eg change the build priorities and building benefits)?

I believe it's fixed in the patch.
