Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
We have not decided on an implementation for the Roman factions. However, we are leaning far away from using any sort of patrician family system.
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
Any word on the coolor of the Roman factions will you go with one coolor or as present 4 dif coloors. or are you guys still thinking this over ~:)
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
I don't think they are using ''faction colours' for any of the factions.

Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
We MAY make faction colors only for identical Roman factions, where they exist, simply to make it easier to see who is who on the battlefield. However, we have so far been leaning toward differentiation through standards rather than "faction colors."
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
yeah, i like the standards idea! you have my full permission to proceed with that angle.

How about just using shield colours?
That is historical and quite obvious on the battle-field I'd think, well obvious enough.
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
Well the point of the factions are to show the political rivalry among the romans. Although in history it was mostly between ceasar, pompei, and crassus (i think thats correct). There werent actually families. Only men and their political alliances. So the question is how do you show that within the engine and you really cant. Youll just have to choose one aspect or the other. Either way it wont be completely historically accurate.
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
No, there are plenty of different ways to depict the Romans. Different factions within the Senate, Consular armies, proconsuls, latin allies, and on and on. Some of them require some tweaks to the way names and such are displayed, but we are working on plenty of different options for the Romans. It is not "one or the other" at all!
Re: Julii, brutii, scipii
Cant wait to see what you guys come up with
