End turn problem

I've played so long just to have my game messed up. I'm stuck in 210 b.c because every time I end my turn the game freezes up. I looked in the task manager and RTW takes over 200,000 bits of memory. It never happened before, as a matter of fact the game was going smoothly all along. So I'm wondering if anyone has this same problem. Even if I end most other processes and tasks the memoryr usage just stays on 100%. I think it could be a bug so again if anyone has this problem state it so at least I'll be 100% certain my computer's not acting up.

Yeah, I just got the same thing. Wasn't sure where to go to find out if I could send my savegame to be looked at. Year 233BC as the Selucids everytime the scroll up top gets to the Gauls the game just crashes to the desktop. I love this campaign and don't want to lose it! :help:

The game has run totally fine until this, I'm using the V1.2 patch.

Yeah man, you'd think it'd be a while before you get any new problems with the new patch but by the way things are going, I kinda prefer the old one. I really don't want to end up doing something drastic to my computer or my cd. :furious3:

I also have the same problem of the game freezing at the end turn.....it is random....it can occur at any date.....and at any faction during the ai's cycle through.

But,all is not lost,if you have a little patience,the third time it happened to me,i got upset and decided to go get something to eat,without doing anything to the game,i just let it sit there frozen,i came back 20 minutes later and it was unfroze and at the beginning of the next turn.

it seems to me the ai gets stuck in some sort of loop,yet,eventually gets out of it,it can freeze from 5 minutes up to 15 minutes,but,always comes out of it

I don't know if this is the case for all computers,all i know is that it unfreezes on mine and that it only started freezing during the end turn when i installed the new patch 1.2

Also,it will freeze more than once,i found that after every three or four turns it freezes again,but,eventually gets through the end turn

Well I admire you patience m8, but not many people have the time or the tolerance for something like that. This shit makes me want to revert to the first patch, because now I do think it's this stupid no-good new patch that's causing the the problem. I'm just gonna mod the a.i factions so they fight better, that's good enough for me.

ive had something similar happen to me, except when i hit the end turn button my game immediately CTD`s, which is very annoying, ive found with that though if i reload the game and look at my loadgame files the auto save last worked as it crashed so when i load the auto save up everything is fine. this too is totally random and has never caused me a major problem. if anyone else has experienced this and knows how to fix it plz let me know :)

I've tried that, hell, I even re-installed the game and the----ok, I won't say anymore because I'm gonna end up at a :furious3: shrink :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3:

There supposedly is a bug with corrupting the save games. There is a thread around here somewhere, I think it says you should save the game at the beginning of a turn, before you do anything. This, of course, is of no help to you now...

Have you tried reloading a saved game from a few turns ago? This may get you around the sticking point.

I get CTDs every so often on the end-turn, but reloading usually fixes this. Never had it freeze up before. There is a definite memory leak though, I will sometimes reboot my PC if I've been playing for a long time, just to be safe.

I was in 210 b.c and I reloaded way back to 225 b.c Game worked for two turns and froze again. Before the new patch I NEVER had that happen, but thanks anyway.

Yeah, I'm getting the CTD's...not the freezing. I've always run from quicksaves and autosaves, since I found out about quicksaves while playing MTW. So I don't have any backup. This completely sucks! I've actually got the AI scroll bar to progress by one more faction by shifting some things during my turn before hitting end turn, but still get a CTD. I may end up going back to v1.1 myself, this is a bit ridiculous if it's really occuring enough to be more then a one time glitch. :furious3:

You guys aren't alone. I just ran into the problem myself with the Egyptians in 133BC. Have you had any luck resolving the issue? I'm about ready to get rid of the 1.2 patch. :furious3:

WOW this is the first time I've been back to the guild since....like ages ago. lol
I don't play RTW anymore because of all the problem the game has, but I'm almost certain the issue of the end turn problem is still unresovled. I'm just gonna wait till the expansion comes out before I start playing again. I wish you the best of luck playing and maybe you have more patience than I do. this can happen when you quiclky save the game. the game would screw up the saving process if you quickly pressed CTRL+S too fast. i know cuz that happened to me....sniff....i was so close to victory!
