Ok, so I've completed all the proper installation procedures (fresh VI and patch, then HTW) but when I try to play HTW OR VI,I get the following:

Unknown faction specified: column 20, row 8
EGYPTIAN

Any ideas on how to fix this? Uninstall everything and try again or what?

Nevermind, I've got it running now.
Have stripped everything & installed three times & am still getting the "Egyptian" message.
Would fall upon my sword - but can't find that either.. :help:
That looks like an entry in the game's BUILD_PROD.TXT file. If you have the Gnome editor this should be easy to fix - open the Hellenic version of this file, scan down the faction association column (ie no 20) and you should find the 'Egyptian' entry that needs removing (row 8).
You should find the gnome editor in the downloads section of this site if you don't have it, and there are guides on how to use it too. You COULD do it with notepad - but don't!
I assume you have this crash before the first game menu? Or have you selected a campaign/era by then?
