Roman Factions crashing - ????

i've been working on a total conversion mod and have replaced all the factions. whenever i choose a faction that replaced one of the three roman factions ( the senate loads up fine ) it CTDs. any ideas why?? all the other factions load up fine as well, its only any of the roman factions, and i did nothing different in the way i changed everything

I've found this too. Very annoying.

I would think it's one of those thousands of hardcored features that we have to grin and bear.
