Mods For Russia
I happen to find the Russians one of the more interesting factions in the game, unfortunately they're only playable in the High period which sucks.
I'm wondering if there is a mod out there that allows one to play the Russians seamlessly from the early period to the late period. With all the Russian units in the appropriate eras?
Would just tweaking the game so that I could play Novgorod in early do it?, or do the Novgorodians have a different unit roster to the Russians as I believe they do?

Re: Mods For Russia
Hi,
I've seen it said that either the XL or Super mods (perhaps both) make the Russians playable, though I haven't played either so can't say much more. I imagine that other mods unlock Norvograd, too. Of course, they change a lot of other stuff (units, costs, maps, etc.) so you may not want to go this route.
Another bet would be to check the modding forum - I believe it's not hard to unlock Norvograd in Early.
Another option might be to start a "conquest" (not GA) game with the -ian switch so that you can switch factions. Start pressing the number keys until you end up on Norvograd, then stay there. I think this will work, but don't try to run on Greatest Acheivments or the game will crash if you click the flashing GA button. (I haven't done this w/ Norvograd, but I played a few turns as the Pope once just for the hell of it.)
HTH,

Re: Mods For Russia
XL mod let's you choose whether to start as the Russians or the Novogrodians or even the Mongols (in 2 flavors). I just started a Scottish campaign with it and it is very good.
Medmod 3.14 also probably lets you have some options to start as the Russians in Early.
I haven't tried BKB's Super mod yet though.
