Contest: OLDEST General
Well, we've had best general contests, so how about an oldest general contest?
My top three should be:
1.Lugotorix (Gaul) 76, when he was slain by romans.
2. Palacus (Scythia) 72, and still going strong.
3. Spartocus the Morbid (Pontus) 72, died in battle.
Post away. ~D

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
Kiya The Great, Kiya the Conqueror, Kiya the Mighty, Kiya the Killer, of his many titles, whatever you want to call him, I call him "Conqueror of all Asia" because that's what he did. - Died peacefully in Rhodes, age 87.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
Wow, now that is something.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
92 i don't remember his name, but he was my greek king
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General
My Macedonian faction leader Damasos the Killer was 97 by the time his forces secured world domination, having been an up-and-coming young general when the game started. He had some horrible personality traits, probably caused by losing all 3 of his sons in combat against the Greeks and Romans.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
86, a Roman general.
I had forgotten about hm ( put him in the city of caralis )_
but when he died I noticed he was 86, oldest I've seen

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
There was a thread around here once that had pictures of a general who was aged at about 102. Look around for it.
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General

So, a habit I have developed is that once a governor or general reaches about 50 years of age, I start having a replacement standing by. Well, in my current campaign, my faction leader just went on and on. He's still alive at this moment, and just reached, well, see for yourself:

I posted it here so people don't have to look at the other forum.
P.S. He went on to be a 102, this was before he died.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
How about a youngest general. To bring back nightmares, on my very first campaign the first to die of natural causes died at the age of 56.
Ohhhhhhh the nightmares
I don't think I ever surpassed 90 years old myself in a campaign

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
My youngest general was 16, like a few others I've heard about. Unless you're talking about the prodigal children, which are age 3 and they have a command star, I've never had one of those. I'll try to find screenshot of the little tyke.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
You can get CHILD generals?
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General
There was a picture on here some time ago of a Roman family tree. It showed little Manius, aged 3, had one command star. Of course, he couldn't be used for battle until he was 16. I guess?
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General
Yeah I had a 4 year old that had 2 stars. I thought he'd have about 8 stars or something when he became 16 but he stayed at two stars for the rest of his life. So much for child prodigies.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
Try and find the picture, I would be much happy ~D

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
If you mean youngest general to die, mine was a 34 year old 10 star Faction Leader. Me thinks he was assassinated by his own troops because he was not of noble birth. He was an adoptee.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
uuhh, yeah I don't know how to take screen shots. :help:
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General
Print Screen button.
To view your screenshots: have RTW in disk drive, go to My Computer, go to Local Disk C: , then Program files, then Activision, then RTW and then go to the tgas folder. Your screenshots are saved in there.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
I seem to remember reading in a thread some time back about how someone at another forum (TWCenter? .COM?) managed to get a general old enough to loop back around to age 0. I think the game uses 7 bits for the age and his general passed 127 so he dropped to 0. Did anyone else read that thread?

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
impressive numbers in here, I don't believe any of my RTW Generals have reached an age past 80. In MTW I recall them getting to be well into their 80's. Then again, most of my Family members have to go into battle and are raised as warriors are - and as warriors, would probably rather die with on their feet with a sword in their hand, able to look the one that slays you in the eye. Then again, some of our Generals, as we all know, are raving lunatics - and might just take a small portion of their personal Gaurd on a suicide mission through an enemy territory. That is, if they escape their cities I garrison them in.... the sly fools.

Re: Contest: OLDEST General
If I'm not mistaken my brutii faction leader, Tiberius the Cunning (also known as Tiberius the Killer and something else) is right now 111 years old and still ruling. He has carried a very peaceful life since he's in charge of Carthage, keeping peace over more than 30.000 people. That's after he got his 10 command stars and 10 influence (in fact he is over 20, just a pity only 10 show up).
-
Re: Contest: OLDEST General
i managed to get 22 influence that's my record

Max stats is 10 for all of managment/stars and influence.
Plus once your general has 8 influence there is no extra bonus for 9 or 10 unless if they are talking to a diplomat.
8 influence has the same effect on a town that 10 influence does.

yes..."raving lunatic". i dunno about you, but some of my generals with purposely "unfortunate" retainers and less-than-desirable statistics often happen to wander haphazardly into lines of pikemen. or just...stand there with their back to the enemy... ~D

My youngest was 20 yr old. He wasn't meant to die!!! I had spent four years transporting him from Nicomedia, to Domus Dulcis Domus where i transported him from there by sea to Batavodurum with an entire stack of my finest men, only for his ship to sink in a storm halfway there. He was going to be such a great general too!!
