Read,this A Great Mod Idea!!!

I posted this mod a while back and well i dont think anyone even really looked at it.
Its based on a book searies known as the legend of the five rings.

It takes place in mythical japan AKA rokugan

Were ogres and bandits and the plague and forces of the shadowlands roam the land and barbarians in the north,and battle the waring clan

Their are many clans in rokugan,All of which serve the emerald emperor and the empire.The emperor is seated on the throne in the acient emerald city aka oton uchi."they are the senate in other words all clans must obey the emerald throne."
Each clan is unique in its own right.

THE SCORPION CLAN,they are masters of deception and produce the best spies assasins and ninjas they also know all the rumors and most secrets of rokugan. All clans are weary and distrust them.

THE LION CLAN,They posses excellant leadership.and are the emperors Left hand,they are the emperors second favorite clan and posses a strong military to match that of their secret rival the crane the emporers right hand.

THE CRANE,They have the most influence over the emporer and hate the lion but will unite against a common foe,the posses a good balanced military and control most of the coast of rokugan.

THE UNICORN,They Have an advantage in 2 ways they posses the best cavalry their stalions are of superb breed they also allow wemon in their military,their disadvantage is they are disliked by their fellow clans even the emperor looks down on them,their heritage is too close of that of the barbarians in the north it wasnt until recently that they were even considered a clan.

THE CRAB,They posses the largest army and the best carpenters they are tainted by the shadowlands as it is their duty to man the carpanters wall to fend off the demons of the shadowland.they remain quiet until a war eruppts they ally only with the strong to destroy the weak.they posses little to no political say in the empire.The only clan that they have the closest relation with would be the scorpion.

THE PHOENIX,They posses a small yet effective army and they posses the best sorcerers and monks of the lands.they are the center of rokugans religion,and they are the wisest of all clans except the dragon.

THE DRAGON,Some say they their not even a clan,some ask why the emperor even tolerates them.They are more or less a cult that worships the wise dragons that dwell deep in mountains.But when a war errupts they usually side with the emerald throne.But distrust all.They are usually isolated and never realy speak with other clans they never send too many to a conflict.

THE MANTIS,They were cast out by the crab and migrated to the island east of rokugan,there they deal in trade and posses many ferociouse qualities the crab posses.They will NOT admit defeat "they cant be turned into a protectorate" they hold onto their territory and will not declare a ceasefire untill all land of there's is regained.

THE RATLING,Long before human kind Rokugan was owned by one clan known as the Nezumi,a race of rat men.When the evil god Fu Leng fell from the heavens their empires dissolved.now thousand of years later they are a nomatic civilization that survives in the shadowlands cast out by humans and living in constant fear of being annihaled by fu leng.

THE SHADOWLANDS,little is know of it other than FU leng taints it and the source of the plague stems from their demons escape the carpenters wall, into the lands of man,legions of undead samurai
dwellin the darkness of the shadowlands awaiting FU lengs orders to attack.

those are the main civilizations.
but not all of them.

NOW A little history of rokugan.
I have only read the first book and half of the second.
the first book the scorpion.
The scorpion discover a ancient scroll that says one of the Hantei emporers will bring the darkness of fu leng back to rokugan.So the scorpion takes it upon them selves to kill the last to remaining hantei and destroy the next generation of the hantei family,so their cant be another hantei emporer.
so during a dinner party in the emerald city the leader of the scorpion Bayushi Shoju"a horribly disfigured man that is considered one of the if not best swordsman in rokugan.tells the dinner party the emporer and all of the other clans embassators of FU LENGS return.Due to the emporers terror he gives Bayushi Shoju orders to due anything to stop the evil.IN return is beheaded by the scorpion daiymio.That was the q for the peasant desguised scorpion insurgant army to strike and take over the emerald city in the matter of hours.thus starting the infamous scorpion coup.In the end the scorpion clan is crushed by all the other clans and the son of hontei survives thus beginning the plague "the early stages of fu lengs invasion and tyranny.so far in the second book the plague has turned entire villages to zombies and bandits are wittling down the clans of rokugan.

I remember this. I read one or two of the books a while back. Its a great setting with alot of potential. I dont remember too much though and im not a modder so i cant help you with anything. Sorry. I hope this gets going though because a mod of this would be pretty cool. Good luck.

kinda sounds like a cheesy knock off of the lord of the rings series...

It is not at all. It is based on chinese/japanese culture and myth while still in an etirely fantasy setting. There is no good vs evil dualism like in lotr and Fu Leng is not the major threat that looms over the enitre world that sauron is. In fact Fu Lang is largely ignored by the factions beyond the Crab. Its much more of a freeforall with alliances made broken when convenient. The Crab in fact make an alliance with Fu Leng in a later novel and proceed to defeat every other clan and conquer the Golden City before they turn on him. In short it is much more itneresting than lotr with alot more potential as a mod.
