Where do you buy your games?
Where do you buy your games and why do you buy them there? Are you a loyal customer at store X or do you buy games at whatever store you happen to be in front of? Do you go to stores that specialise in games or do you go to the video game section of the store you happen to be in? Do you buy games online?

Re: Where do you buy your games?
i usually go whereever the price is the lowest. generally it's either Walmart or EB. if the price is the same at both of them, then i buy it from Walmart since Walmart has a much better exchange policy than EB does
however, i like EB a bit better because it usually has better deals on older games than Walmart does
although lately the PC Games section in all the EB stores around here has just been getting smaller and smaller ~

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I go to stores that specialize in games or else I can't find what I want.
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
Where ever they are cheapest. Could be EB, Best Buys, Circuit City or Comp USA. My favorite store is the one with the lowest price. I rarely buy online because stores seem to get things at least as quickly as anyone can ship it to me. Cossacks I ordered from the UK because their publisher always releases in Europe first.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I buy them either from Amazon.com or from Bestbuy. Convenience, in both cases, being the reason.
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
amazon.co.uk. It's usually £10 or more cheaper than my local Game and has a far larger range; it's also quieter, not full of hyperactive 10 year old boys and assistants who stare at me.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I used to go to my local GAME due to it having an entire floor dedicated to PC games, allowing me to browse at will without being distracted by tiny console kids (not that I have anything against consoles, but you know the type). It was always really quiet in fact. Unfortunately they moved premises recently-and the new shop is all on one floor, so I order from Amazon.co.uk now.

Yeah I have tried that, but shipping costs tend to kill any cheapness or even convinience.

Amazon.uk do free postage on orders of £19 or more; I save up items I want until I can get that free postage. In theory it is 2 days slower, but I find the parcel usually takes the same amount of time as Royal Mail first class; that is to say it turns up very quickly ... or never, at which point you find Amazon is very good at replacing lost items. To be fair I've only had a few parcels lost from Amazon ... and one left out in the torrential rain ... and two crushed, but that is actually far better than post from other sources. Amazon must have threatened the post people after my first complaint.
The only disadvantage over a shop is that I have to wait a day or two, but I'm a patient frog and don't mind that.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
Well, I buy them as the mood hits me, and as I tend not to spend much time anywhere except college, I usually go to wherever its closer. I´ve probably overpaid a few times, but well, money is money its there for you to spend it...
Usually its GAME though as its all around and there are only that many *raises 3 fingers* shops that have a decent selection.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
GAME or PC world. Normally GAME, because it is close to my college.
Most games come out on a Friday, and I am in college on Fridays. So I go at lunch time.
The only problem is that it is in Bootle, which, is without a deut, the worst place on Earth, nay, the galaxy. It smells, because it is near the docks and the people are stupid, on drugs, thieves, etc. There are loads of council houses and run down buildings.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
Whatever's cheapest, or I'm closest too. I don't have the patience to wait to order online, for by the time I make up my mind, I've already thought about it for at least a couple of days.

Most of the games, especially if they are new to me, I buy from . Otherwise, I do ebay.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
Usually gamestop or compUSA. I used to go to EB but gamestops have been slowly taking them over around here and now with EB bought (or merged) with gamestop they will all be gone in a yeear or so.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
Where I live (eastern Canada) there are only a few choices for buying games.
-Staples (you yanks will know it as buisness depot), only PC games though
-Wal-mart, console games limited PC game selction
-Future shop (Canada's circuit city), extensive console and PC selection
-EB games, even better selction than future shop plus pre-owned stuff
-Microplay, this is a buy-sell-rent (games and DVD's) chain here in NS
I mostly buy my stuff from EB and Microplay now. The EB store in my area has only been around for about a year or so, before I'd go to wal-mart. And if Wally mart didn't have it I'd go to the EB store in the city (I live in the burbs).
Something else does Circuit city, best buy, or comp USA sell appliances (fridge stove washer dryers) and install car steroes? I ask because Future shop does all that and sells electronics/games.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I mostly buy from Amazon, usually I go with the free delivery as if I've bought a game and some books the cost almost always closer to £50 than £19, the delivery time doesn't seem to chage much between free delivery and first class.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I guess that would be EB games, but only because it's convenient (as in very close).
I've also been noticing a significant shrinking process as far as the PC games are concerned...2 years ago they occupied like half the store...now they barely have half a wall...

I've seen this too. In GameSpot stores the PC titles are on one rack and placed on end. Scantily clad action figure babes get more space.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
I'm a "console kid" so I generally buy my games from GAME. But since getting RTW, I have barely touched my PS2 in months.
I would never buy online, you miss out on the always-hilarious attempts you can try to haggle with shop assistants.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
From the cheapest source. Which usually translates to stores with good bargain bins. ~;)
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
No store loyalty, at all. I pre-shop online, then buy at the cheapest vendor - sometimes that's online, other times brick-and-mortar.
Taking an informal survey for work, DoL?

Re: Where do you buy your games?
Amazon.co.uk as they take the VAT off for me ~:)
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
Depends, if I want something new I want it NOW. Lately I go to 'free record shop' as they sell a lot of good second-hand games for low prices. I bought devil may cry 3 for 15 euro, beat that ~:)

Re: Where do you buy your games?
FutureShop for 90% of them.
It's the biggest (and only) store within 20 miles of me. Cool place. Tons of games, DVDs, giant screen TVs, and computer stuff. I can spend hours in there.

Me too. ~;) Plus there is the E3 esque white noise of the place that is strangely comforting. Unfortunatly here in New Scotland there are only 2 future shop stores and they are both a lengthy bus ride from me home. Plus EB games is much cheaper usually.

Re: Where do you buy your games?
me? Amazon.co.uk, if I can persuade my mum...yup, I am a little child :waaagh:
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
Either Game (because I have a reward card) or Virgin (because I get a 10% dicount for being a young Scot) or HMV (because someone has got me Waterstone's Vouchers for Christmas, and I also got books already)
-
Re: Where do you buy your games?
Game, Amazon (UK) and from time to time Amazon US.
It depends on who has the best deal and when games are released.
