Alternative GDR / Soviet Poland
When WW2 ended the Allies decided on the so called Oder-Neisse-Border which means that Poland was moved westwards...
However Stalin also though on a very diffrent Path: Declare a Polish Soviet Republic with the Borders definded in the outdated Molotov-Ribbentop-Pact with Nazi-Germany from 1939. Thus had this result:

However it should be easy to see that the GDR would have been far more powerful through that act. What do you think on the poltical impact of it?
I could imagine that the Polish people would have a very strong unrest, while the GDR through it's simply far more powerful would follow a more agressive foreignpolitical course.
Re: Alternative GDR / Soviet Poland
I don't think that GDR could follow more agressive foreign politics in this case - it simply would not be allowed by the states-victors in WW II.
As for Polish I think these borders wil inspire unrest and splitting of Poland , and later splitted parts consumed by stronger neighbores ( for ex USSR or pro-Easterners states ).
