How do you upgrade your general's unit
You know those cool looking general's units in custom battle? Are they upgraded general's units or do they have the same stats as your general unit in campaign mode?
I noticed that the Roman general in campaign is wearing chainmail, and the one in custom battle are wearing lorica segmenta (and those nice spiffy praetorian helmets). Greek general in campaign wear a crappy looking wide brimmed hat, the ones in custom battle wear cool hoplite helmet.
Yeah, so whats up with that???
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
Marian reforms. All generals become armoured generals as far as I know.
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
Nope. I was stuck with chainmail general's unit while the rest of my army was ALL post-marian.
Does the 1.2 patch address this or what?
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
I think a huge city at your capital does the trick.

That`s right.
I will again advice you to download the 1.2 patch. ~
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
Huge city size doesn't do it, I have about 20 of them, including capital. I guess its just the patch issue then.
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
I do reckon they might be upgraded general's units post-Marian... You'd need a warlord stables/hippodrome for that, if I remember correctly...
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
Aren't non-roman upgraded bodyguards broken in 1.2? Also, is there a way to manually fix this?
Re: How do you upgrade your general's unit
Well, I guess I have to say it one more time:
The bodyguards of all factions, except from Scythia and Pontus, are upgraded after the marian reforms in the 1.2 patch. ~:)

No there not broken. I've goten them myself, Greek IIRC. It's just the the Roman factions tend to lag behind if your not playing as one of them.
