Defeat Imminent Message?

Anyone ever seen this one before?The full message was Defeat Imminent:Another nation has almost achieved total victory.The Ptolemeic Empire.
This was whilst playing as Sarmatia in RTR.I quickly checked over the Ptolemies realm and they appear to have no more than 20 territoriesWhat is going on.
It's not even that late in the game even though i am playing in a new style.I call it Migration TW.I pack up my entire nation(Sarmatia)and abandon all my cities,holding on to just one.I then move my stacks across the map through Dacia,Macedon,Northern Italy,Southern Gaul,Eastern Spain and take Carthago_Nova sacking all cities in my way as i go.I then build a fleet and cross to North Africa and now i'm gonna work my way back around the map through Egypt and the Middle East and eventually reclaim the Homeland before i sack Rome.It is fun and challenging as you can often have a very negative income but the veteran Noble and Sarmatian Horse Archers are a sight to see in battle.

yeah dude i saw that one really weird. they said that i've i don't hurry another faction will win (in other words)

Well i am about 6 turns on from that message and nothing happened.What occurred in your case Emperor Umeu?Did you lose or was it a false alarm like mine appears to be.......so far.

well actually my game inmetiatly CTD and it was a critical error. but i think it means that the faction is close to the 50 faction limit. i think most time they had the 50 or about 50 regions but didn't have rome

Maybe it's a very rare problem with RTR, because i've never had that problem with vanilla.

no the message wasn't the problem. i was busy making the east and west roman empire. but sumthing went wrong. it just warns you, that sumone else is ready to take the victory. sumthing like the warnings in MTW. you have only 5 turns left. blablabla.

Most likely, they were approaching the 50 provinces needed for victory. Don't forget to check if they have any protectorates which would add to their total provinces. In my game, Carthage is a protectorate to the Ptolemaic Empire, which, needless to say, gives them a LOT of territories. If they need to take Rome to win, though, I think the urgency of the message is somewhat lessened, because the Ptolemaic Empire has quite a haul to make before they could take Rome.

I've had that happen with a short campaign with the germans in vanilla, they had like 15ish settlements and ended up winning.

You hit the nail on the head guys.When i went back and checked both Carthage and the Seleucid Empire were Protectorates of the Ptolemies.The reason the message stopped i reckon was because i had an army in North Africa tearing the Carthies a new one and another army in the badlands of the S.E sacking cities.Well sussed you fine and noble people.
