It's strange that there's no way to edit your posts here, or at least I don't see the button to do it anywhere. Regardless, here's updated information, plus some previews:
Introduction
Summary
Alexander - Total War takes place in 336 BC, just as Alexander has become King of Macedonia. Immediately the Thracians and Illyrians rebel, and the Greeks may soon follow. Phillip has left a large amount of debt, leaving only the options of war, or disbanding the profesional army that has allowed Macedon to become the greatest power in the region.
It must be said that the focus of this mod is not just on Macedon, but the entire era Alexander lived. The map will stretch from Iberia, all the way through India (including Western parts of China). To the South it includes all of the Arabian peninsula, and a good chunk of North Africa. It's the largest map I've seen in any mod.
The reasoning is two-fold. First, it is meant to let you take a different approach to Alexander's life. What if he didn't die so young? What if he was able to go on conqueroring Arabia, Carthage, Italy and the rest of the Mediterranean world as he planned. What if he continued on East? All of these options are available to you.
Second, there were many interesting events going on besides Alexander's conquests. The Mauryan Empire would soon rise in the East. Rome was fighting the Samnite Wars. Carthage was fighting over Sicily. The Greeks are in one of their most desperate spots in ancient history. Alexander of Epirus, Alexander the Great's cousin, was trying to build his own Empire on the Italian peninsula.
This mod will try and give you not only the greatest challenge possible in trying to conquer Persia, but an exciting late game, as well. You will fight a wide range of enemies. Most of the original factions are still around, but you'll also face forces that are completely unique from those seen in the normal game.

Paurava - This is the Kingdom of Porus, situated near the Hydapses River. As most of you know, the Mauryan Empire rose up only a few years after Alexander. The reason it will not be included in the official sense is that it was founded because of Alexander's actions. Besides the legend that Chandragupta Maurya was in fact inspired while traveling with Alexander, he did end up using a large number of Macedonian mercenaries to form his Empire. One of the first areas he conquerored was also Paurava. Chandragupta will be included in the game, and you will have armies much like the ones he used.
Arabia - The nomads to the South of Persia had long raided their borders. One of these invasions was around the time of Guagamela. Alexander was planning to conqueror the pensinsula first after returning from India. It played a large role. This faction should also add a rather unique experience to fight against, and as. They have a more distinct fighting style, and were heavily reliant on camels instead of traditional cavaly.
Yuezhi - This was a tribe in Western China which was flourishing around the time of Alexander. It's somewhat of a stretch to include them, and I'm still not sure if I will. They seemed to have been related to the Scythians, and fought similiarly. On the other hand, they had some other influences, and seemed to have used some heavy infantry as well. Information has been hard to come by, and that's one reason they may not be included.
Also, another reason I would like to use the Yuezhi as a faction is that they would go on to influence the Hellenistic world. They were forced out of their traditional homes at a later point, and began to move further South. They would settle in areas of the Graeco-Bactrian Empire, and then later go on to form the Kushan Empire.
They should provide for another rather unique experience to fight against or as, as they have some influences from the Chinese, as well as the Scythians.

Provincial Campaigns
Summary
To go alone with the main Alexander campaign, there will be several mini campaigns that will concentrate on other eras of Macedonian history. These will include the time of Phillip, Pyrrhus, and the Macedonian Wars. These mods will have feature their own maps that concentrate more on smaller areas. Phillip will have a massive map of Greece that will also touch a bit of Asia Minor. The Pyrrhus and Macedonian campaigns will focus in on Greece, Italy, Carthage and Sicily. These will be large, and depict the terrain of the areas far more accurately to allow for more strategic manuevering.
Rise of Macedon
This campaign will go from 359 to 336 BC, the time in which Macedon rose to the dominant power in Greece under Phillip of Macedon. You will be able to play as Macedon, Thebes, Sparta, Athens, Thrace, Epirus, and Illyria.
Pyrrhus Wars
Most people know who Pyrrhus was. He campaigned in Greece, Italy, and Syracuse. He attacked the Romans, and while scoring a number of victories, he could never fully defeat the determined people. This game will give you control over Epirus, Macedon, Thrace, Illryia, Thebes, Athens, Sparta, Syracuse, Carthage, Gaul, Bruttian League, Rome, and the Samnites.
Macedonian Wars
The final campaign will focus in on the series of clashes between Macedon and the rising power of Rome, the first of which began in 215 BC during the Second Punic War (which means you can expect to find Hannibal in Italy). This will give you control over Carthage, Syracuse, Rome, Illryia, Thrace, Thebes, Athens, Sparta, Gaul and Macedon.

It's a privaledge reserved to members. How long has this mod been going, cause i just saw it and it looks great.
But, have you increase unit speed, cause if not thiers no way to get men that far, that quick in rtw.

This mod hasn't been going long, probably just like a month and a half.
As for movement speeds, I'm not sure exactly what will do. This mod will most likely use the four turns per year script. Movement points will still probably have to increase. I'd like to set try and get movement as realistic as possible.

The small banner shouldn't violate anyones signature policy. It's a bit annoying that there seems to be no way to edit my posts here. I messed up posting this last time:

I'm thinking about ditching the Iberian faction in favor of someone else (although I'm not quite sure who right now). They didn't really expand, and I think we could represent them fine by simply using stronger rebels, as we're doing with Numidia.
I have a few ideas for who to replace them with:
-Another Indian Tribe, most likely Magadha
-Bosphorus
-Ethiopian Faction, or possibly some other strong group of Africans
-Instead of using the Bruttian League, possibly make a Bruttian and Lucanian Faction
If you have any other ideas, don't hestitate to give them.

He fights without much armor, and has a heavy peace of leather on the front of his shield. Both are adaptations to fighting in the East, where missile fire is a more common threat. Because of the lack of armor, the unit is also a bit more mobile, and doesn't get tired as quickly.
Greek mercenaries were the elite troops of the ancient world in many armies, including the Persians. They will be the best, and most reliable infantry available to them. He fights as a traditional hoplite, with the large shield and long spear.

The faction symbol for the Samnites may change, but the swastika was a symbol used in many places throughout the world.
We have another unit to show off. This time, it's Alexander's Agrians:

These light troops were some of the best in the ancient world, and the elites of Alexander's army. They were the first foreign troops to be fully accepted into the Macedonian military. Drawn from the rough North of Macedon, these troops were incredible in all kinds of terrain. They were indispensable during Alexander's attack on the Persian Gates, and his Eastern campaigns.
When Alexander would break from his army, he would always take Agrians along with his Royal Guard. They often served on the right in battle with Alexander's elite Companions and Hypaspists, serving at times almost like Hamippoi to the Companions. To earn such positions, they must have greatly supported Alexander, and had nearly unbreakable morale in battle.
These units will be small in size, but of great ability. They will be equipped with two javelins, one of which can doubler as a spear in close quarters combat. They'll also carry swords. They are extremely versatile, and can fight as strong light infantry to protect the flanks of the slower phalanx, traditional skirmishers, or even as hamippoi to the Companions.

Looks good; the only unit that looks a little worse than the rest are the Legio Linteata. The bright blue just doesn't look quite right.
Will this mod require RTR to run, or is it independant?

That isn't 100% done yet. Caius still has to touch up some of the Samnites.
This mod is independent. We have close relationships with the RTR team, I guess, and we'll be using a couple (No more then 10, I would say) of their units. Otherwise, this is a completely seperate mod, and will look to change everything. I would expect this to be as large as RTR 6 when done.
