Question Re;STW patch v1.12
I've downloaded this patch and want to install it, But the installation instructions aren't very clear to me.
ie;To install this release, download the self
extracting zip file, execute (double-click) it,
and follow the on screen instructions.
There are three executables, double click which one? Also it's in a winrar
file, where do I extract it to precisely, the game file, or a temp file before
double-clicking?
I'm guessing that since it says it's for the English language version I should
extract it to: D:/Program_Files/Total_War/Shogun-Total_War/loc/eng.
and then double-click the Setup.exe.
Could someone please tell me if this is correct?.........Thanks; OldRPGer ~

Hello OldRPGer! Welcome to the .org! ~:)
I'm afraid I cannot answer the tech question( :dizzy2: ), but I'm sure someone else will. ~:)
see you later!
Re: Question Re;STW patch v1.12
Hi,
I' d recommend to extract into a temp-folder first.
Then try the setup.exe file.
This should open an installer window, asking you
where you want the patch installed. The installer should be able to
locate your main game folder, the folder containing
the Shogun.exe. If not, enter the path yourself when asked.

Re: Question Re;STW patch v1.12
Thanks Ra's al Ghul, I tried your suggestion but unfortunately when I loaded
the game afterwards, I kept getting screen flashes on the menu pages. Then
when I tried playing a campaign, it would let me start one and pick my family,
but everytime I clicked on the palace icon it would take me to it, then when I
would try exiting, I got a CTD along with an error message from my WinXP
asking if I wanted to send an error report! It wasn't doing this prior to the patch.
I think it was trying to access files from the temp folder I set up initially to
extract the zip file to. I don't know if me having my hard drive partitioned
may have been the cause or not. The temp folder was in my C:/ drive, and
the game folder was in my D:/ drive.
At any rate I figured it would be a good Idea to just uninstall it altogether
and try reinstalling again. I got a feeling, that for as many files that came in the zip file, that it needs to be extracted to a file somewhere within the
program file itself prior to clicking on the setup.exe button. Possibly the path
I mentioned in my earlier post (ie; D:/Program_Files/Total_War/Shogun-Total_War/loc/eng.) I only say this because there is a loc/eng folder in the zip
that contains the read-me text for installing the patch! Your guess is as good
as mine at this point I'm afraid! ~
I really wish they would have been a bit more precise in thier read-me text,
You know! Explain it in a way that a three year old could understand! Or at
the very least offered an extraction path of where to extract it to! But I
guess that would have made it too easy! :annoyed:
