Where's Christopher Lee's knighthood?!?
Another half year passes and I can't help but notice once more a blantant omission from the Queen's Birthday and New Years Honours List. David Jason is made a Sir (who didn't see that one coming ~ ), yet one of Britain's greatest actors and revered contemporary figures, Christopher Lee, is not! Currently he's a CBE, with Sir being the next one up I think, but the man is an incredible 83, so the Palace had better act fast. It boggles the mind how someone like Kelly Holmes can be made a Dame and people truly deserving of the title are not - it seems like if you accomplish something in sports you're a shoe-in for a title. If he doesn't get one soon its a complete disgrace.
So what do you think? Is there anyone who you want to see given an honour or maybe you feel that a certain person doesn't deserve it at all?

I mean winning two gold medals is amazing for Britian (we suck at the olympics ~;) ) but Dame is not warranted. I would of thought the usual sevices to sport would do.
Re: Where's Christopher Lee's knighthood?!?
A man's worth and renoun i measured by how many people remember, love, or hate him. Getting a sir in front of your name counts for nothing if no one cares about you.
Christopher Lee is immortal as the magician Saruman for example. No otehr actor could have played that role better. He was practically born to play Saruman. He will always be remembered for that, not for getting sir in front of his name.

And the Man with the Golden Gun. And I believe Dracula or something? He made an incredible amount of movies... In the 200s, I believe.
And I agree, he's awesome as Saruman. Exactly how I envisioned him. And he was a huge Tolkien fan, not only did he meet him, he has read the trilogy once a year for a very long time (40 or 50 years, I believe... :book: )
Re: Where's Christopher Lee's knighthood?!?
I disagree ...he shouldnt be a knight of the realm...he should be made a Count and live in a castle deep in the woods ~D

BP I'm not saying it makes the man, more that on principal he deserves it. When you see all these other people, some half his age, getting a higher honour before him it is almost laughable.
