Germanic Tribes

I`m playing Mundus Magnus Mod....I`ve taken Rome but i`m playing until the end....it`s 68 BC and i`ved conquered all factions beside Parthia,Ptolemaic Empire and Germania.....i have serious difficulties against garmanic tribes....they hold 6 settlements....and i can`t conquer them....germanic tribes army is many and strong....mostly with elite units...axemen,bersekers etc...with good XP and armour....i lose battles against them...dunno what to do against bersekers....usually i have

2 generals
4 princeps
2 triarii spearman
8 first legion cohorts
2 forest bonus archers
2 onagers

and i lose closely.....so ..question?....What unit should i use against bersekers ?? ~:cheers:

Missiles? They are poorly armoured...

Unfortunately, they have 3HP and are tough, little buggers to kill.

The man with that broom on his head told me,to stay and wait for them to come....please guys...i must conquer their capital at least...after that it`s gonna be easy...i think....i`ve tryied bribing but always refused me...trying to assasinate their generals...also...no use..my assassin are getting slayned btw....i`m playing Julii ~:cheers:

your advisor ( man with the broom on his head ) means that if they attack you , you should then deploy your troops all the way back , so they are more tired when they can attack you.

Also what Craterus says is probably the best,, put your cohorts on guard mode and set them to fire at will.
deploy 1 archer unit in front of your main line and one behind your line
set the onagers behind your line, you can set them to fire at will if you wish.
Put your generals behind your line, where the fighting will be the hardest.

IN short : make all your cohort fire their missles ( preferably at the strongest unit ) and make the m come to you, let them attack

if neither that won`t work...surely i will train some urban cohorts or will I bring some "eagles" from Rome, or i will go to africa to get some elephants mercs to be certain that my victory is mine!..once again thanks ~:cheers:

this works really good against steadfast enemies, believe me

If there all in the town just get an army of almost all onajers and aim for the units and major buildings. destroy temples, palaces, recruiting centers, and anything else that makes the population happy. sometimes they rebel and if not with most of the city burned to the ground they won't build new units as fast. also a city with no trading centers or farms usually cannot hold out in a seige for very long.

one more thing lay seige with several armies, no seige technology, let them starve or attack. if they stave out you win. if they atttack circle around with your other armies and crush them.

ok well thats my peice, follow it if your that gullible...i mean smart.

Use all your pila by making all your units stand in guard mode and fire-at-will.

The pila is the best of the Roman advantages. When they attack, the pila storm alone can rout/annihilate 2-3 units.

Then flank em and let the fun begin.

thanks 2 your advices...Germania is almost conquer...have to deal with Parthia now....Ptolemaic Empire i will avoid how much as i can the war,don`t want to deal with them...now i want to see what will happen when it will be 14 AD...btw can i mod all the germanic units to be in horde formations ??

check descr_units file. look at peasants which have horde formation and see how to add to other units.

check Caligula unit editor out also, makes things much easier.
