Help with model

Heyas people. It just so happens that I've picked up texturing. Basicly, I'm just having fun, creating some new skins. But, there's something I haven't figured out yet.

You see, I wanted to make a greek sword unit. First, I based it off the officer_greek_hoplite model, and it looked good. But, that model has this fancy helmet, only fitting an officer and not a lowly, poor hoplite who has lost his spear. So, I made a new skin and based it off the greek_hoplite model. But, I can't get the model to loose it's spear! The unit insists on walking around and attacking with it's spear instead of it's sword (altough using the sword animations). I don't want this, considering I KNOW that the hoplite model CAN use a sword.

So, is there anyway to get the hoplite model to dismiss it's spear and use the sword instead?

You need another version of the model where the sword is the primary weapon. Merely changing animation types does just that: changes the way it uses its weapon, but not the weapon used itself.

Perhaps someone will make you a new Greek sword unit. If they do, point them in my direction also ! :tongue2:
