Decide for yourself and read the transcripts.

Never saw anything like it before, on PBS.
It just kills you to have a different opinion expressed on PBS, doesnt it? Have you tried Air America - Im sure they wont challenge your perceptions of reality.
The world has moved past the liberal dominated media that emerged after Vietnam and Watergate, and as usual, PBS is slightly behind the times.
Public Broadcasting is for everyone in the nation, and over half the nation doesnt want to watch a continual string of bush-bashing.
I read the transcripts - where's the ass kicking? The first one brought up continuosly how America supported dictatorships around the world... wow, thats such a republican stance. ~
BTW, Here are some quotes from Moyers. How did such an opinionated nut get so much airtime on a station that is supposed to represent all americans?
“The entire federal government – the Congress, the executive, the courts – is united behind a right-wing agenda for which George W. Bush believes he now has a mandate. That agenda includes the power of the state to force pregnant women to surrender control over their own lives. It includes using the taxing power to transfer wealth from working people to the rich. It includes giving corporations a free hand to eviscerate the environment and control the regulatory agencies meant to hold them accountable. And it includes secrecy on a scale you cannot imagine. “Above all, it means judges with a political agenda appointed for life. If you like the Supreme Court that put George W. Bush in the White House, you will swoon over what’s coming. And if you like God in government, get ready for the Rapture.... “So it’s a heady time in Washington, a heady time for piety, profits and military power, all joined at the hip by ideology and money. Don’t forget the money....” “Republicans out-raised Democrats by $184 million and they came up with the big prize: monopoly control of the American government and the power of the state to turn their radical ideology into the law of the land. Quite a bargain at any price.”
About Sept. 11 and the patriotism that was shown after:
I decided to put on my flag pin tonight – first time. Until now I haven’t thought it necessary to display a little metallic icon of patriotism for everyone to see....I put it on to take it back.
And finally my favorite.. said on election night..
I think if Kerry were to win this in a tight race, I think there would be an effort to mount a coup, quite frankly.
Not a scummy liberal? You tell me... :rolleyes3:
Re: The new and improved PBS
Anyone see that Congress is giving PBS its funding back? That's extremely disappointing. Had I known they were going to buckle so easily, I would've called my representatives. :embarassed:
Honestly, I don't care what views they're pushing- or even if they're perfectly balanced. Government shouldnt be in the media business.
Re: The new and improved PBS
I've listened to PBS off and on over the years. They make more effort to get both sides involved than any other network. It is almost guarranteed that I'm going to disagree mightily with one of the two sides when they bring them both in two lay out their cases. Some folks unfortunately believe that all debates should be monologues instead... If I want that, I'll turn to Fox News.
The clowns that want to kill PBS really irk me. Yes, let's get rid of kids educational programming and the PBS documentaries and various news shows. I'm sure we can get rid of this one unique network, and fill that air time with another show featuring T&A's, Donald Trump's Simple Life, Fear Factor SUV, CSI Melrose Place, Queer Eye for the Punk Guy, or an all new Survivor--The Cast of Friends. :dizzy2:
Re: The new and improved PBS
I was so taken back by the "scummy liberal" comment I at first thought it an error. typo.
Well, the House just voted to put back a $100million of the funds they slashed. Now, it goes to the Senate - where it is predicted that they will put the other $100million slashed back into the budget for PBS.
Seems Tommilson (ms?) the right-wing hack that was put in charge of our National independant TV failed to show some surveys he had commissioned to demonstrate the bias of PBS. What they showed (he had them run twice, second time in purely conservative red states, results were the same) that a majority of Americans see no bias and admire the objective manner of reporting (news and documentaries).
It is more a matter of the GOP wanting another channel that regurgitates their own biases, and that plays along. Rather than allowing an independant source or outlet be permitted for investigative journalism.
Still, we will see soon enough if NPR and PBS can survive the onslaught of right-wing rhertoric. They may upset their own applecart if they continue to show their real intent of silencing criticism towards their actions (political, economic, and military).
It is one thing to say something is bias (MSNBC, FOXnews, Ollie, Rush, O'Reilly, etc) and another thing to prove it.
Bill Moyer stated his opinion (s) without saying they were anything other than his analysis of a matter. Where as others (on the right) proclaim an absolute truth from their utterances.
You know, those bleeding-heart-conservative-liberalbashers. ~;)

Why would the GOP be against public broadcasting? Are they really u to some secret plot their afraid PBS will uncover? IF PBS were doing what its supposed to do please explain why only conservatives see a problem with it? You yourself took offense to them even looking to give some sort of balance to what they air. Thats pretty funny accusing the GOP of wanting another channel. Tell me how many do they have now? Of course we all no the poor democrats and libs no longer have a voice in the media. Its all a vast rightwing conspiracy.
