I have an extremely basic question to ask

I'm sorry if I am wasting your time but, can you tell me how to play multiplayer?

I don't really know how to do it.

So if you can just tell me were to go and what to do I would be grateful.

Hi Horatius.

What you need to do is ensure you pc is connected to the internet, fire up rome as normal and then click multiplayer. you will then have to enter your cd key which should be on the back of your instructions manual, enter you online name an away you go! this will take you to one of the 3 lobbys, in wich you will see both a list of players online and a list of games. just double click a game you wish to join (that has a free spot!) then choose a faction and an army to take to the field.

It is usually considered polite to ask the host of the game if there are any rules such as a max unit type or if artillery is allowed.
