Haggis throwing, you've got to catch your own. ~D
As I'm only 1 hour away from London I might see if I can go some of the Olympics. I don't think that Chirac done himself any favours with his racist comments about Brits.
Hopefully they'll add rugby too, preferably 15s, but 7s would do at a pinch.
Snooker and Darts, because we'd be unstoppable.
Rugby and Cricket, I'd fancy us to get at least a medal.
Also, we should definately be able to field a Great Britain football team. Its a complete joke that the very inventors of the game are not allowed to field an Olympic football team because of a technicality.
Congratulations I just saw it on the news a few minutes ago....... America will still win ~D
That's bloody optimistic in view of the Lions lamentable performance...still, cricket looks more hopeful.Quote:

I'd add dominoes to the list of sports, bar billiards would be obvious, and as the world nettle eating championships are held in England each year nettle eating should be at least a demonstration sport.
I suppose this means I will have to move out of London fairly soon to stop my council tax doubling when Ken completely cocks up the construction projects by insisting on employing only lesbian crane drivers etc?
Cricket 20/20 would deffo be good.
And EA - we will not have any Red Ken bashing here! ~D
From one soon-to-be Olympic host to another:
Congrats!!!
~
yard of ale
1000 metre pub crawl
street-fighting
Assaulting grannies
They will be 4 new sports on the list
Edit: and speaking of Ken : have either EA of JAG been flushing the toilet after a mere piddle down the bowl?
I just posted this in the frontroom but....
WE BEAT THE FROGSagain WE BEAT THE FROGS again...maybe they'll finally clean up the ol' capital
There was a thread in the frontroom a while back where we voted our support for the host nation of the 2012 olympics...
Who do you want to host thw 2012 Olympics?
It is interesting to see who predicted it correctly. ~;)
Darts would be fantastic, but I wouldn't rule out the Dutch - Barneveld, Stompe, Van Der Voort, Schoelton - reckon we'd have a challenge on our hands there!Quote:
Darts, because we'd be unstoppable
Strange thing was that it was never a race between London and Paris, but London and Madrid for most of it.
So true, it is lucky we held them off to get into the final vote so they could give us their votes for the win! ~DQuote:

Not if he wants to get his G8 agenda through - of which he has put a huuuuuuge amount of political capital at home and abroad on.Quote:

We hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, Mrs ichi and I got to attend a few events. Definitely a good time. I hope that you'all pull it off, avoid any 'security' problems, and get something lasting out of it.
ichi ~
Congrats brits, you just earned yourselves 10 more years of debts for yourselves. I don't get what people are chearing for, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THAT!!!
This will take away from investment in roads and hospitals! Great! *Hooray for us!*
Not at all, the money is being put up separately from general taxation and the fools tax - the national lottery - so none of those problems. The things you can do with a fast growing economy and growing taxes, eh? ~DQuote:

I'd love to see 20/20 cricket at the Olympics, even though the Brits are dominating it...
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first game I watched. Electric.
Congrats to the Brits! Better you than us! (Nobody in their right mind wanted the O's in NYC -- what a nightmare.)
Fabulous! Another opportunity for this crap government to tax the rest of Britain to the hilt just so that Stratford can be "regenerated". Why not just do that anyway? Oh no, Mr Blair has to have his prestige............
Yet we still won the election? And the hundred odd seats the Tories won due to a split of the Labour vote will be back in Labour Hands. Grow up.Quote:

Blair is chatergorically a much better PM than all the Tories in the last 20 years. He has overseen the largest sustained period of growth since the Industrial revolution and has improved living and working conditions for the worst off in this society.
You don't like it then my simple comment is to grow up and live with it. The Tories will not win the next election and its entirely likely they will be overtaken by the Lib Dems as the second major party. Live with it.
He's Thatcherism with a sugary coating of socialism.
But at least he isn't Thatcher, which is what wins elections. ~
Haven't they won the same number of elections?
Thatcher won 2 didn't she? Then she got uppity and like typical tories they jumped her from behind.
Sorry for my English
